I don't understand all the sudden love for the beagles. It took a series of absurd events for them to make the playoffs and now a lot of folks seem to think they going to the title game. Remember, they were on cruise control early too but beat the Panthers when needed. They are not the Vikings and Eli is not Tavaris Jackson. I'm taking the G-men and giving the points.

jmt the Eagles get the respect for the same reason the cardinals do not. Theyhave proven over and over that they can go into hostile territory, regadless of weather or conditions and win. They have been doing it for a decade now.

Sometimes things are just meant to be.

The Cardinals baseball team was a big fat nothing then got hot and won the WS, stuff happens at times like that.

Who do you think plays more tight in the 4th quarter of a close game?

Jake or Kurt?

Who starts having the fear factor creep into their mind if we're on a drive at the end of the game where a TD win's it?

I'm thinking if we can keep it close until the 4th the advantage likely swings our way.

Jake has been in his share of big games. Unless he get hit a lot this game, I am not sure he shrinks under the pressure.

If this threads scenario happens I will be back in Phoenix for the game. I wouldn't miss that for anything in the world.

the National Bird Watchers Society will have a very tough decision to make. :D

I actually think it's not that far fetched. The Giants are a different team without Burress as the media has been all over this week.

And as bad as we looked a few weeks ago, the fact is we go into Carolina knowing if we play well, we can win. We should have beaten them the first time around. Yes we won't have Boldin at 100%(if he plays at all) but we're still very dangerous, all of a sudden we're running the ball better, and our defense looked much better against Atlanta. DRC was a non factor in the first game, he'll be a factor this time around.

Carolina is very good, won't surprise me at all if they win, but it's not a game we just have no chance in, unless the weather gets really bad.

all this is true, but i wonder if we really did figure out a tell on matt ryan how much that had to do with our defense's success. without such an ace up our sleeve against carolina the d could be in a for a loooooong night.

All of us in our seating area did not want to say goodbye and talked about being back in UoP for the NFC Championship Game...

Stranger things have happened...

after the game my pops, bros, and family friends all gathered in the parking lot and one comment lead to another and the next thing we're all talking about how we are all definitely going to tampa bay and can stay with a friend, and i can get us tix through the buc's owner, and then we got silent for a minute and burst out laughing at ourselves.

Delhomme has made some great throws at the end of games this year. Steve Smith has also made great plays, obviously, but that just works to give a QB confidence.

I don't think he's very likely to fade under pressure.

If we tackle against the panthers like we did against atlanta, and our offense plays like they did against carolina, this is going to be a great game, and I think we can win it.

The absolute most important thing in this game is our D staying in their gaps and TACKLING...simple as that. No arm tackles, no overpursuit, no freelancing. Just stay in the gaps and tackle. We will be in this game and have a good chance to win if we do this.

Change in Outlook...

Til now, my mindset has been that the Cardinals matched up athetically with any team they faced but were inconsistent and lacked maturity emotionally and mentally - i.e. "It was about the Cardinals and not about them."

I think that's starting to change. We're moving into the phase where the Giants, Philly, Carolina and the Cards are more evenly matched physically than most experts give the Cards credit for, and all four teams will play with the same intensity and focus.

The Carolina game figures to be a kind of transitional game between the two phases. (If we can play the way we did against Atlanta; with a few less miscues, it should be a heckuva game).

As we move deeper into the playoffs, the game will then become more of involving individual big plays, an oblong ball that bounces funny, the weather, injuries and the zebras.

In short - Anything can happen.

This has the makings of a great commercial. I couldn't stop laughing out loud at work as I imagined the above taking place. Priceless!

I've said the same things as I'm at work with a Cardinal jersey. Since I have the jersey on I have been surprised by the number of conversations from those I have run into today. I've been stopped in my tracks by people want to talk about the game.

I tell them the same things, at this point it will be decided by the way the ball bounces and the breaks during the game.
