At all. Not once did he make a play that your run of the mill college walk on couldn't make. Someone getting so hurt because they said someone sucks. Like fans are supposed to think all 53 players are awesome without faults or something. Would you be as hurt about the whole thing if he said "I am sorry but Lance Long isnt any good", both say exactly the same things just different adjectives. If you saw that in your goodle search you never would have come here in the first place. All this over one silly adjective.

You have got to be a family member or his best friend, because no person would go so crazy over the word "suck" otherwise.

Why do you continue to use his pro day as your evidence. If he turned so many heads why was he never drafted. If his pro day was so awesome, why not get drafted. It goes to show just how far down on the list of things scouts worry, timed speeds really is. Also he has had 3 total drops in preseason and no that youtube clip or the TD pass in the GB game dont count in that total. That is the total as stated by a local radio cards insider. And you said he didnt have any fumbles, try again, Muffed punt against the Packers = fumble.

As for the Wiz evidence that only goes so far, I trust the guy but no one is infalible.

I didn't say anything untrue, why are you still here complaining? A 40 time doesn't mean anything, again, or else Michael Johnson would have been the greatest NFL player of the 90's and Usain Bolt would be a 2 time MVP already. And no, the youtube link is not what we are talking about, because that is not a drop.

But it is interesting to note that his highlights for the game of the video you posted were him getting lit up, a 6 yard punt return, and a drop in the endzone.

The only issue I have with this thread is the "If you disagree with me you aren't a real fan" comment.

There is no place for that on this site or in any conversation. Such comments only lead to flame wars and discourage real discourse, as it has done in this thread.

It would be the same if he had 10 posts or 1000.

I don't think it's much of a stretch for a new member to question the thoughts posted that started this thread. I still think "Card's player haters should root for some other team" is pretty ambiguous. The guy was just frustrated because not even his "Lance Long runs a 4.3, 40" was taken as factual when I'm pretty sure he posted a link backing up the statement.

The part about Long not fumbling was also something that could have been taken for what it's worth. As a WR, he didn't fumble and I'm pretty sure the conversation was about the WR depth chart.

I'm in 100% agreement with you about flame wars but I think GFT was offering coherent thoughts--biased as they might have been, for most of the conversation. I could just as easily be disappointed in many of the members here for not being the "bigger man"(or woman). Instead of ripping a new guy to shreds for passionately defending a Cardinal player and the coach, he could have been offered the same toleration that the original post got.

Maybe he hadn't "earned" that privelage but there's also benefit of doubt.

Oh well, just 2 cents from a relatively outside perspective.

This poster got carried away as well. All he/she had to do was offer the "coherent" arguments without blasting the people who post here. Especially since no one other than Gee said Long "sucks" or wondered if he was only on the team because he was White. They just put up arguments that he wasn't very good compared to other NFL players and that combine numbers didn't translate to NFL success etc.

This thread is not really about Lance Long it is about what is acceptable behavior on this board that is why it is so "long".

"Outsider" as in, outside the clubhouse looking in. I'm a long time member but not one of the club. I pretty much know how things are around here but am not part of the "us", I'm part of the "them".

I wasn't saying I am unfamiliar with being banned nor was I saying that the poster didn't earn his break. I just thought I'd offer my "outsider" thoughts as a different perspective that this situation could be viewed.
