Everyone in the stadium knew the Packers were going to be running the ball, and we could do nothing to slow them down. For a defense that was quite adept at getting stops when needed, that suddenly went away. What happened in that 4th quarter was what WE were doing to other teams, and not the other way around. Not really. It's not like opponents weren't having success rushing the ball against us with J.J. Watt in the lineup. We allowed our median amount of rushing yards last night.
Usually Watt isn't on the field in running situations.Everyone in the stadium knew the Packers were going to be running the ball, and we could do nothing to slow them down. Are you seriously trying to say bc we allowed an average amount of rush yards in that game that Watt wasn't missed?
You can continue to think that the Buddas (mostly invisible yesterday)/Simmons (good but not great) are the most important player on the D, but I think you'll see as the season goes on that Watt's value on the field goes beyond his performance, which was great. His attitude and swag, the attention he draws, and the respect he demands is sorely missed.
Oh yeah, guess I forgot, JJ Watt, situational pass rusher.Usually Watt isn't on the field in running situations.
Also was strange that our CBs namely Wilson was giving a ton a cushion to their WRs, mainly in first half.
And we kept doing it even though it was gouging us. Adjustments would have been greaaat. You have to flip the perspective a bit on that I think.
If the other team is running and the CB's are in tight coverage your giving the WR chance to get hands on you right away and box you out of making the tackle.
The cushion gives the DB space to see what the play is and come down and tackle the rusher if required.
Well that didn’t happen so I guess it was a lousy strategy for both stopping the run and stopping the short passing game. You have to flip the perspective a bit on that I think.

The Cards under Vance ALWAYS do worse when they go soft coverage.
Also, why does Vance call less aggressive D whenever Chandler Jones plays?
This is my issue.......... because he expects CJ to win his one-to-one matchups.
And constantly 'blitzing' AR is a recipe for disaster as he'll exploit the holes in coverage.
How is it that most football fans know this & our DC does not????? I'll never trust Vance, no matter how much talent Keim goes out and finds for him. This is my issue......
Vance needs to adapt now that Chandler almost NEVER wins his one on one matchups. Especially since week 1. Bakhtiari's backup owned him most of the night.
And your right..... You can't blitz AR. You need front 4 pressure and a great coverage scheme behind you or your doomed.

Please...
Vance's "D" did enough to win.
Packers collected 10 pts off of a muffed punt and an int. inside the 15-yard line.
In the end, we had the ball and were in a position to win it.
Find someone else to blame.
It would. But based off that Dr. video and the release of the extent of his injuries I’m betting there is a .00001% chance of that occurring. If JJ can come back in time for the playoffs that would be huge
And He tore everything as well as his peck muscle and his labrum....Had a torn rotator cuff and had surgery. Can’t use the arm at all for 6 weeks and minimum 6 more weeks before you can use it “normally” and 9+ months to get full strength. That was 13 or 14 years ago and I’m not a professional athlete, so probably a little quicker for him. And a big part of his game is his strength, yes?
While chasing Davis Mills of all people. Yikes. And He tore everything as well as his peck muscle and his labrum....
