But they also dont have a so called statue who holds on to the ball to long.

Dilfer doesnt take sacks he knows when to get rid of the ball thats his M.O., thats why he is still in the league at his age. He doesnt make mistakes or take uneccisary shots.

He gets sacked once every 12 attempts for his career, not exactly a statue but he's not exactly Joey Harrington his first 2 seasons. Dilfer has been sacked a LOT in his career, as a matter of fact the rate this year is among the lower rates in his career so Cleveland is doing something right protecting him.

I'm not claiming LJ is Munoz, I mean the entire team never gave up a sack during HIS career, just that LJ isn't doing nearly as poorly in Cleveland as you'd expect based on the trashing he got on this board.

Unless you're talking a different incident I think you have that backwards. Jake screwed up and was yelling at someone else and Kendall told him to shut the hell up and do his own job or something similar. It was caught on NFL films on the microphone, at the time it got out a lot of people here seemed to think it was good that Kendall did it.

I also seem to recall Jake lining up behind Kendall once in a preseason game, before Kendall had moved to C and Kendall yelled at him for that too, I think that was on the same NFL films clip.

4 Penalties and 3 sacks for Shelton, and playing next to a top 3 LG (Andruzzi) tends to elevate your game.
Ironically, one of those three sacks is on Andruzzi. All three you mention came against Freeney, but one was Andruzzi wiffing, not Shelton.

But, yeah--it's still a mystery to me why we didn't go after Andruzzi, or even the consolation prize in the FA guard sweepstakes, Vincent.

This is obviously tongue and cheek and although your point is taken, that was just a bit of my argument....but taken out of context nonetheless...

I'm just saying he has yet to show me while he was here and since he left here any reason to be so up in arms about this...don't all you cards fans who dwell on this guy just feel really really bitter about everything????

I can list a bunch of guys i would have rather kept then this guy.....

-Darwin Walker
-Micheal Pittman
-Thomas Jones
-Simeon Rice (which his calling out AZ is about as team oriented as refusing to swith positions for the betterment of the team)
-Jamir Miller
-Larry Centers
-LJ Shelton
-Ron McKinnon
-Raynoch Thompson

but they are all gone even though i still feel those guys provided value either already seen, or possibly still due to their young age....

Fact the matter is i think our oline took a step back for a season or two...but the move will make us better in the long run. Step's development is more important than Petey boy getting his preference on position played. And you would be hard pressed to convince me that a 30+ year old Kendall would be a big difference this year or last.

Plus the cut sent a message (although im not sure the results have turned out quite the way he had expected)

No disrespect Russ but why keep putting yourself through this exercise of futility. I don't agree that Kendall being cut was terrible move by Denny, but even if i did, i sure as hell wouldn't be lamenting it almost two years after the fact.....

Yes Kendall is gone and we should forget about him! However, I think the crux of all these post are about Coach Green and his method of operation and not Kendal. Kendall is the underlying factor. Coach Green is still here and will be here for 2 1/2 more years.

He played Guard for the Jets. So the FACT is the Jets are more persuasive than Green. Another example of where a coach or player for an opponent is better than one of our guys. Jets succeeded where Green failed.

Or the FACT is that he didn't want to play for the Cards and knew this was his free pass out. Guess there are a few "FACTS" in this one....

What a joke!
