Yeah, no kidding. The next hot rumor is Artest to DEN for Klieza and others.

No way Denver gives up Kleiza. They need his outside shooting.

I actually think Denver is going to be the surprise team of the second half easily winning their divsion and getting a Top 4 seed. Kenyon Martin is coming back and with the improved play of Klieza and JR Smith shooting the lights out (look at his last 3 games behind the arc) they should be formidable.

Screw trading for Artest though. They need to trade for Andre Miller.

I can see that happening. I can't see them advancing past the first round of the playoffs though, unless they hit a 5th or 6th seed that has been hit with injuries.

Agreed. My final Predictions for the West.

1. Suns/LA Lakers*
2. Denver
3. Dallas
4. LA Lakers/Phoenix*
5. San Antonio
6. Utah
7. New Orleans
8. Houston

* It will come down to the end and too close to call.**

You really think Dallas will overtake the Nooch? Even after this trade?

For sure. See my first sentiments I orginally posted on page 3. I think much like everybody else did with the Shaq trade we are too quick to assess the trade as being laughable. Teams that get the stars almost always get the better of these deals at least initially get the bump they are looking for.

I could see them getting upset in the first round but I think this makes them a better team over the course of the regular season. I don't think its good long term and I applaud NJ for getting what they got.

New Orleans will fade. Chris Paul will have his time but it won't be for a couple more years and one more good offensive option.

Yeah the difference between #6 and #7 is damn near insane:rolleyes:

If I have to pick a team to fade (and one will - take that to the bank) its the young team too dependent on a PG to carry the team. Because the match up well with the Suns doesn't mean they are all world all of a sudden.

They are a good young team a couple years away IMHO. I say the expectations will crush the momentum they have developed over the first 3 months.

Holy crap. The Nets got the better end of that deal no doubt (2 first round picks as well). I don't think this will get them a title but I think they are getting better in some areas. For instance Kidd will get them easier points in the paint for instance.

However, their bench just got weaker and if Kidd is not on from the outside you can pack the paint on dirk more so then you could with Devin.

Hollinger states this deal "isn't nearly as bad as the Shaq trade".

I disagree, at least if Shaq blows up, the Suns are stronger. If Kidd plays at his top form, what happens? Dirk's scoring goes up a few PPG.

how ? he is in the west now lol

I think since it's so close to the AS break and that he will have not played a game in the West, they will allow him to play in the East.

and from what I'm hearing, he will stay as PG in the East..

This is a great deal. For every team in the West EXCEPT the Mavs. LOL. They just lost their PG of the future along with their only back-up center. Even if Stack gets bought out and ends up resigning with Dallas, and the follow-up deal of Wright to Dallas for a 2nd rounder goes on, they'll have 14 players under contract and they'll still only have 1 center on their roster. In the West you better have an above average center and an average back-up center if you want to do anything. Personally I'd love to side swipe Dallas, if Stack is bought out, and try to sign him. He'd get better looks at shooting, and a way better chance at a ring here with us.

Huh. This deal doesn't make sense to me.

At least it should make our matchup with them better.

No Diop! That is huge to me in evaluating who won this deal.

I am so happy Suns fans and Lakers fans can agree on something! ;)

That has got to be the dumbest trade of all fricken time. The Mavs give up two very good players, a whole lot of depth, cash and 2 first round picks for what is essentially an aging jason Kidd.

Someone please explain?

It just seems to me that the combination of Harris, Stack and Diop posed a lot more matchup problems for the top west teams than Kidd possibly could. The Mavs just lost a lot of depth and got worse in the half-court offense.

Not a good trade for dallas imo sure they get a really good pg in Jason Kidd, but trading away Stackhouse, Harris, Diop, 2 picks and cash sure i'm missing one player that dallas sent is just way to much for a pretty old but still solid pg. I like it now that if we face dallas in the playoffs we won't have to against diop, harris, or stackhouse anymore makes it alittle bit easier :)
