I tweeted this exact scenario this morning. Knowing how the Dback feel about both guys, I could see this happen and it makes a TON of sense for Seattle. Question is how long is King Felix locked in for?

My guess is Seattle would ask for one more piece, if not Towers would have been all over it. I'd even throw in Miley too to get it done. Felix under control through 2014.

I'd use Bauer in any quality trade. Dude's going to be a problem in the locker room. Players already hate him.

Do you have anything to support this, or is it just an opinion?

Ask Nick Piecoro. Said he was very unpopular in the locker room. Ask Montero, who wanted to give him a punch in the brackets.

This is not to say those relationships can't be repaired. Being exceptional at what you do does wonders for your relationship with your teammates. But Bauer's not exceptional and it's an attitude issue, so do the math on the odds that he's going to come around any time soon.

I know Montero was frustrated with him, never read anything from Piecoro regarding that. Not saying it may not be true, just was looking for specific info.

I know the former PR director of the D-Backs, and got the scoop on alot of the current and former players. Found out who was/is well liked, who wasn't and why. As an example, let's just say Mark Reynolds being traded had little to do with his batting average.

I've read that a lot of players hated Randy Johnson too.

I know Nick. I can't remember if he told me about Bauer or he Tweeted it. Pretty sure it was a Tweet.

Randy Johnson was not well liked, but he was respected. (and everyone knew he was uncomfortable with the fame)

Chris Young is one of the most loved players in the locker room, as is Montero.

You are absolutely spot on and anyone who didnt read the tea leaves on this hasn't been paying attention. Bauer and his outlook might be to progressive for a old school outfit (Gibson, Towers, and Kendrick) that we have in place.

Its obvious he didnt fit in his time up and you could read about it all the way back to spring training.

Like Gad said he comes in and does well this stuff slides away. Keep in mind the credibiloity RJ already had in place when he got here. Thats part of what pissess off players because Bauer ISN'T established and all hype at this point. Yet he gets the preferential treatment on his training, hes coddled, and has sepaerate media sessions from everyone else. Doesnt help he is an intellectual in a room of "ball players". They need to see what they have in him till end of the season and if he is just good or worse, revisit a trade in the offseason.

Shame. Just seems like oil and water at this point.

Trade Bauer. No way! You know the RJ was the same way his rookie year. It just takes a while to learn the Big League Way.

The players didn't really like RJ on gameday, but that's because he was obsessively focused. Once everyone got used to that it was fine, of course winning didn't hurt. On non-game days RJ was always an immensely popular player within the clubhouse unlike say Curt Schilling.

Regarding Bauer - Corbin and Skaggs are just as accomplished and the same age. Plus both are likely going to last a whole heckuva lot longer with their stuff and frames. Plus we have Bradley who's going to be ridiculous once we get his control in place.

If Bauer's gotta go he's gotta go. Him, Saunders, and say Parra could bring us an All Star. Insert Upton instead of Parra and we're talking an elite level player.

I cannot believe you guys are giving up on Bauer this soon? Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail.
