I'm all ready on record that Kurt Warner will be the 2005 NFL Comeback Player of the Year! :koolaid:

God I hope you are right. I am sick of hearing / seeing the Cardinals in the press when they talk about bad QB's.

I am on the Warner bandwagon. Lets finally see what our offense can do with a QB and RB.

Having spoken to our last couple of QB's (Jake, McCown), not only are we getting potentially upgraded skills, but (I know I'll get flamed for this) also a guy who has the smarts to pick up a more complicated offense...If you know what I mean. ;)

I thought he was benched in favor of Bulger after the first game when he fumbled 6 times against the Giants.

naw - that was the next season. Shane's talking about the year after the Rams lost to the Pats and Warner was atrocious, went 0-5, his back-up lost the next game and then Bulger, in his second year, came in and lit the league on fire, won 5 straight games and then was benched for Warner, who came back and stunk again.

Warner looked MUCH better last year(not good - but better than the atrocious form he showed in the year Shane was talking about). With DG and an old Vermeil guy calling the shots, I think he can get a little better than he was last year, which would be a huge upgrade in the QB position for us.

I'm very happy we signed Warner. Remember his last couple of years with the Rams that he had a broken thumb (I think) that really limited him.
We still have work to do on the offense. RB & TE are needs.

Man, normally I am a big Kool-Aid drinker when it comes to the Cards.

I just am not a big fan of Warner. I think it will be just one more washed up has been and great hope followed by a lot of disappointment.

I think about all the veteran QBs that have been brought in over the years and not one of them played very well. Boomer had a few good games but it didn't mean any more wins.

I sure hope I am wrong. I will be cheering for Warner but my expectations are very low at this point.

Of course we normally get a QB that was good someplace else and he sucks here.

Now we pickup a QB that sucked someplace else.

Maybe it works in reverse.

The question not do you believe in Warner, it's do you believe in Denny ?

I do, so I have faith that Warner will work out. Of course we could be in the situation of having limited choices this year at QB, if so I would expect to draft one on the first day.

7-9 and with 4 games left in the season we controlled our own destiny for the playoffs - it was our 3rd best season in 15 years out here though Chaz and Boomer had without a doubt the most exciting 3 game run on offense any of us have seen since they moved to the Valley.

You also have to take into consideration that anyone else they ever brought in here had ZERO coaching(except Boomer - who had Fassel - thus the good production).

I am not on board this wagon unless we get a top RB. Kurt Warner is a turnover machine unless he has a keep-'em-honest threat.

Kurt fumbles too easily and holds the ball too long.

As a Card fan i hope Warner does well.Hopefully Warner can last through a full season healthy. That is something he hasn`t done for several years.Still seems like a lot of cash to take a big gamble on his durability.

Kurt was sacked 39 times in 7 games and lost only 6 fumbles so that's not that many fumbles for as much as he was hit. And didn't 4 come in one game? Are my figures wrong?

On the Rams board (and man that is a fun to place to check out right now lol), someone said he fumbled 12 times last year.

Who knows

He fumbled 12 times but only lost 4. He will have better protection here though.

It was 6 fumbles on 6 sacks in Week 1 of 2003 against NYG. He also sustained his concussion in this contest. The more research I do on his stats and injuries, the more confident I feel he will have a very good season here.

Look where Warner holds the ball. He hold the very back end of it. It also looks like he has really small hands. No wonder he fumbles so often.
