I think the Vikings not re-signing Kirk at 35 to a multi year, large contract is different than actively moving off Kyler and eating dead cap space.
It’s different in cap hit, but not in terms of manning the position. Denver is a great example of the former.

Man… that’s dicey. He’s probably gonna command a decent chunk, multi-year salary for a one year wonder.

I’d rather go Fields band-aid for a lot cheaper while spending the rest of our FA dollars on D and a speedster while searching for the QB/LTOFTFs.

Try again. Maybe you forgot where the franchise was prior to K1.

In the six years before Kyler, we were 3-13, 8-8, 7-8-1, 13-3, 11-5, 10-6.

Total record: 53-46-1.

In the six years with Kyler, we've been 5-10-1, 8-8, 11-6, 3-9 (4-13), 3-5 (4-13), and 6-7. Total record with Kyler actually on the field: 36-36-1.

Total record overall: 38-57-1.

Now tell me... which six year stretch is better?
Thats cute to only go back 6 years.

Everyone on this board knows our history here in AZ and the Warner and Carson eras are total outliers just like K1s.

Biggest issue for me is not being clutch in the biggest games. I would have said that the playoff game was a typical rookie playoff performance but Sunday and the 2 games after the bye brings K1s ability to be the man in the most crucial times into question.

You lost a lot of credibility with me when you went from Kyler being an "elite" quarterback to being a "serviceable" quarterback over night after one game.

"Other QBs"

Yeah two HOFers prior to coming here.

Not a single home grown QB by the AZ Cards. Not to mention Arians went on to win a Super Bowl with another team that Bidwill and Keim ran out of town.

I will never be on board with getting rid of a QB that can win games in the NFL for unknown plan.

Do you guys dislike JG or something because getting rid of K1 without a plan is fastest way for him to be fired.

You just avoid the issue. Are you still a Kyler fan or not? You fought post after post that Kyler was "elite". Have you changed your mind?
You can't really be elite if you gag during big games which he has done now 2x when there were big games.

And yes I am still a big fan of K1 and really hope he can turn it around.

Do you want me to go back another 6 and include Warner, 2 division titles, 4 playoff wins and a Super Bowl appearance. I mean... at that point we're looking at close to a decade where Carson and Kurt elevated the team to heights never seen before while Kyler continued the trend of the Cardinals being losers, missing the playoffs in 5 of his 6 seasons, while only being over .500 once in his illustrious career here.
Everyone on this board knows our history here in AZ and the Warner and Carson eras are total outliers just like K1s.
Carson and Warner's era are definitely outliers in our sad Cardinals history. Kyler's not.

Kyler's reign of error revolves around an absolutely dreadful 38-57-1 record, while consistently missing the playoffs. That's not an outlier in Cardinals history... it's pretty close to par for the course outside of Kurt/Carson eras. Biggest difference from previous crappy eras is during Kyler's crap era, we idiotically paid a hell of a lot more for a QB that's never come close to giving us a return on the investment.

Truth is, no one but Kyler biggest fans see Kyler's era as anything else but another failure in a long line of Cardinals failures. Maybe not as spectacular as past failures, but a failure nonetheless and far cry from anything Kurt/Carson accomplished. Probably more on the level of the Jake Plummer failure… probably a bit higher. But even there, at least Jake won us a playoff game and didn't get exposed and humiliated like Kyler did in his only bite at the apple.

Thank you for the honest answer rather than your usual snarky know-it-all response. I also have had hope that he would turn it around, but I have given that up. The problem is what to do next.

LOL. A quarterback that can win games... 38-57-1 record during Kyler's reign of error.

It’s very possible Kyler is remembered much like Jake. Sad!

You should talk to my wife she loves the know it all schtick.

Draft a QB in the off-season for sure. Now that the starters don't even play during the preseason they will get lots of reps. All this talk about there not being a QB worth drafting is laughable because we all know Brock Purdy was a highly touted NFL QB coming out of college.

The other route is bring in a journeyman next season and look to trade K1 during the season and then draft a QB.

There will be people willing to trade but it won't be for a great amount. If MO wants to get rid of K1 he will.

With 4 games left though we could mess around and win 3 of 4 and then we end up with a winning record.
2 of these last games are against poor opponents and the Whiners aren't going to be playing for anything when they play us.

I swore I was not going to respond to your comments anymore but there at least 3-4 things wrong.
1. Thinking MO will get rid of Kyler if he wants to? No he won’t because Bidwill won’t let him.
2. This team cannot look at any opponent and consider them weak teams. WE are just as weak.
3. Do you really believe the 49ers are going to roll over and play dead against a division opponent who beat them earlier in the year when they were missing 1/2 of their offensive weapons? And especially if by some miracle the Cardinals needed a win to make the playoffs?
We MIGHT win 1 more game.
The Rams and 49ers will run us into the ground.
