I agree with all of that but the fact that he is eligible makes it really likely he wins.

I thought the point of come back player was that you are good? Not just that you come back with a good story?

Hamlin is a completely average player. Would be like giving it to Jalen Thompson.

He's always been Drew Brees inside a decent pocket and with competent receivers Krang. You know that man, come on.

The kid can spin it. Straight up.
Oh man, no. Gotta counsel against absolute words like always. *Sometimes* he has been Drew Brees inside a decent pocket and with competent receivers, *Sometimes* he has been bad all on his own. I think the kid is the very definition of inconsistent.

He’s winning meaningful games this season and had some elite games while doing it. We are .500 with a mid team and a bunch of young players.

No one is coming for you this is a debate thread. Differing opinions are fine but no one has to agree with it.

K1 is already great compared to every QB the Cards ever drafted. You can say that isn’t a great list but I would point right back to what K1 has accomplished in the face of a terrible franchise.

Let’s not turn ourselves into the Browns who got rid of a good QB thinking it was his fault they weren’t winning. Then the dude goes to another team and has success.

We finally got a couple good weapons in the passing game. Both of which have missed time this season and yet we are having a good season at the top of the division.
Fair enough. I agree he had a great game in Sunday. Now let's see it consistently.

You are proving my point about this franchise.

Not really. The truth is the franchise has very little history of drafting starting QB's. That is, QB's in the top 2 rounds with a realistic expectation they will start early.

It's basically Rosen, Leinart, Plummer, Sacca and Rosenbach in the last 40 years.

haha. Okay, so one the key words in the debate for the darksiders has become "consistency".

As the spokesperson for that group Stout, please define "consistently good QB play" in the context of this offensive scheme, and personnel group. Either for an entire game, a four game stretch, or for an entire season.

No you really are and all those dudes were either terrible or mildly good. K1 towers over them in terms of talent, consistency, and most importantly wins. They were all failures because its hard to win here because ownership, front office, scouting, have been terrible. K1 is winning this year despite one of the most crappy defenses ever.

Imagine even having a marginally good defense this season. We might be 6-2 and really making noise. Instead its the same old Cardinal FO sitting with their hands in their pockets full of cash.

Why were Warner and Palmer able to overcome this? Are they so much more talented than Kyler?
You are moving the goal posts now. We started talking about drafted QBs and now you are switching to well established QBs that were successful before coming here.

Pick a lane.

How successful was Carson Palmer before coming here, really?

Even really good QBs have significant variation game to game

Kurt Warner in 2008: 6 games with passer ratings >100 , 4 games less than 80 -- one of which in the 40s
2009: 8 games > 100, 7 less than 80 --2 of which were in the 40s

ok fine

Patrick Mahommes 2022 MVP season (i.e. about a good as it gets / playing QB at the highest level)

10 games >100 -- of which 3 >120 including a 144 vs........... your Arizona Cards

5 games 85 or below in Passer Rating, one of those in the 70s

Kurt Warner was left for dead, a shell shocked ghost of what he once was in St. Louis 7 years earlier, released by two different teams, who’d became a turnover machine.

I have. And here's what I saw:

67% completion rate.

YPC = 7.1

4 to 1 TD to Int (wow).

98.0 passer efficiency rating.

Your turn smarty pants.

Yeah, you can't use averages to measure consistency. You get a 7.1 YPA by having games with 9 and games with 5.

Compare Rams stats with Lions stats for example.

No. You started talking about drafted QBs. As if that means anything.

You can easily be the best QB we ever drafted and the 20th best QB in the league.
