I got to give K1 his props today. You can say it was a meaningless game, you can say they were beat up, and you can say they surrendered, but K1 did what was necessary to get a win today. Man played well today. I just hope the light finally comes on next year. I know hope in one hand etc but that's all we got.

Throwing this game in the face of Kyler skeptics is peak misunderstanding the terms of the debate.

Kyler is a front-runner who doesn’t come through when the chips are down or the season is on the line.

But I’m glad for your victory lap on this 8-9 season.

Not going to lie, I am really happy we made 8 wins. That stops this from being the most losses in a 3 year span in franchise history.

Purdy is the ultimate game manager.

No one believes he’s the guy especially the Whiners FO.

Purdy was the very last pick in the 2022 draft. He has far exceeded expectations.

Kyler was the #1 pick in the draft, and we are hoping that next season(his 7th year in league) he will finally meet expectations.

These are just stats so don't get pissy. I didn't have an agenda looking into it.

Kyler Murray finishes:

QBR: #9
Passing Yards #11
Completion % #7
TD Passes #13
INTs thrown #14
Traditional QB Rating #18
QB Rushing Yards #4

Probably QB 12-14 in the league.

Probably QB 12-14 in the league.

Just to revisit this, here was my perception / bias before these final rankings.

QBR. I know this was high but he sucked for like a month so I thought like 13

Passing Yards: This is my biggest shock. I would have said like 20. Kyler puts up around 215 yards a game and finishes 11. The QB landscape is barren.

Completion %: I would guessed #4. I knew he was close to 69%, which is top tier but instead a bunch of guys benefited from the shell defense that the NFL plays. You can have all the 6 yard hooks and outs you want.

TD passes: Needed 4 today to not be atrocious but a basic 2-1 TD to INT is pretty decent. Actually top 5 in Cardinal QB ratio

INTs thrown: Yeah this is what I would have thought. Kyler just crapped himself for 1/3 of the season on bad turnovers.

Trad QB Rating. I thought around 23. No legs or adjusting for his crap interior oline I was certain this would be brutal.

QB Rushing yards: I thought #3 but finishes 4.

Kyler played well today, including against a line that refused to block. He needs more games like this to prove he's the franchise QB. But today, there was no pressure on him and he was playing against a defense that had one eye on the field and one eye on Cancun.

The issue that myself and many members of the media have posed is that we're not sure that he can play his best ball when he needs to, which would've been during the games against the Seahawks, Vikings, and Panthers.

The 49ers are absolutely fudged by the Purdy dilemma. Purdy will make more money than Kyler by some team. There is no reasonable replacement so the 49ers have to pay it. Deebo will be cut.

Said it at the time so will pat myself on the back. Everyone who blasted Deebo for playing hardball on his contract is now seeing why he did it. They were using him as the primary WR, a RB, and a kick returner. Tough as nails but the way he plays it didn't take a rocket scientist to see they were going to cut a year or two off his career by doing that and surprise, he's now getting hurt and looks much slower. Dude is 28 and they're still using him all over the field he had his career worst rushing season but averaged like 30 yards per KO return.

If they cut him I'd love to get him but we would still need another guy since he's not a speed guy.

Not a fan.

He is a total me guy and ruined team chemistry by bullying the kicker and long snapper.

The only thing I would say is he would love revenge on the Whiners

On the contrary, he is the definition of a team player. He literally shortened his career to help them by being a RB and kick returner.

The Kicker stuff yeah it probably is not cool but the kicker absolutely sucks and I don't think it's because Deebo bullied him I think Deebo bullied him because the guy sucks and was costing them games.

Anybody watching the Lion/Viking game knows Kyler would crumble with the pressure Goff and Darnold are facing.

Darnold crumbled under it too and is probably going to get rich. I only saw part of the game but Darnold was pathetic in the redzone. The one after the long run by Akers, the 3rd down play the WR came wide open over the middle and Darnold held it and then threw incomplete. The 4th down throw was broken up and they kept replaying that but the drive killer was the 3rd down where he didn't throw to the open guy

Kyler is not a star but I personally think he'd look much better with Jefferson and Addison too. I just think Minnesota has a stacked offense and a great coach

This aged poorly.

Again Darnold is about to see the playoffs for the first time.

He will see a totally different intensity than what he has experienced in the regular season. If he goes out first round it will be interesting if the Vikes give him a big deal based on one years performance.

Yep. But he won 14 games. Big difference. For the record I would not want Darnold.

I would not want us to sign Darnold. But he did win 14 games and had a fabulous year. Red zone killed the Vikings. I guess we can relate to that , huh?

So, instead we tied our most losses in a three year span?

Yay !! :D

1990-1992 35 losses
2022-2024 35 losses

we are forever stuck - we're either looking for a quarterback or discovering we need to look for a quarterback - we haven't had a quarterback since palmer and there was only kurt warner before him - cards have been here what? 35 years?

when we have real quarterbacks we have real success - we have playoffs - the valley gets pumped - and when we don't - which is always - most people tune out and just make fun of the team after watching each week's 30 second blooper reel

it's a tale of two schities - one where we're forever imprisoned by suckage and one where we momentarily dip our toes into relevancy - relevancy is what we live for - i think we've all but given up on a ring

idc how good kyler murray did yesterday - i just wanted to be relevant - since the bye he's got me singing bye bye bye - and i freaking hate boy bands

Probably QB 12-14 in the league.
Counting stats are weird because it seemed like there was an unusual amount of QB churn this season. Only 19 of 32 teams (59%) had quarterbacks who started 14 games or more.

When it comes to rate stats, Kyler was 20th in YPA, 5th in success rate (a stat I like a lot), 26th in TD percentage, 13th in sack percentage.
