I know Dan Bickley was personally po'd! Bickley made it sound like he was one of the few at the station that wanted Murray. When Bickley heard about the charity no show, he was pissed on the air. Bickley did not like that at all! LOL.
I usually like Bickley..but he knows what we know. Not enough. Imo

This is turning into such a side show...man. I think we could gives daytime soaps a run for their money.. haha

So, he either committed to the event and chose not to show or chose not to commit to a charity event for kids.

Means absolutely nothing in terms of how he'll play football but if one actually cares about the players they're rooting for...not a good sign. On it's own, especially considering the circumstances maybe it should be ignored. If it's one more thing added to a list, though?

I value character so this doesn't endear me to KM as the #1 overall pick, leader and face of the franchise. It isn't character over all else but it matters.

Well said.

Only 19 pages to discuss Kyler skipping the event? I don't think we're really giving this the attention it deserves. :)

Especially because...again...he doesn't personally schedule this sort of thing on draft day.

Whomever the agent hires to manage all his appearances on draft day is the one who does it. That is why the agent got defensive.

I don't want to draft him at #1 overall, but this is a mountain out of a molehill.

Not really. He was the only no-show out of 22 prospects. Somehow all of the others managed to get there. It would be overblown if 5 or 6 didn't make it and he was just one of them, maybe. Speaks to his priorities...his character.

Or as already reported, it means that the agent has someone incompetent in charge of scheduling his appearances.

Not because of Kyler huh? Question...if they do choose him, do you think they think he is a non difference maker?
No, I don't think they think that, but it's what I think. I also think that not a single other team in this draft would take Kyler Murray #1 overall, and the only reason we're even considering it is because of our fired college head coach, and ownership's hope to get the Baker Mayfield effect.

On the right track toward thinking we're drafting him for all of the wrong reasons, and he won't be a difference maker?
No, I was pointing out that your last post was almost just an confirmation to why it should be the Cards pick. Imo. Failed coach in college(but offensive guru), baker Mayfield affect, etc. Those, imo, are reasons to get Kyler Murray. Not pass on him.

But, we'll just preemptively agree to disagree since you have some real major issues with this pick.. it's cool. :)

I think the Cardinals are desperate to replicate the Baker Mayfield effect, and will fail greatly in doing so. This guy is not Baker Mayfield.

Mayfield has skill but not skill alone. If that were all it takes then Manziel would have succeeded. Mayfield's greatest strengths are his intangibles, like leadership and passion. They are infectious and inspire his teammates(apparently). Hopefully for the Cardinals they don't look only as deep as skill set when making their choice.

Well said.it takes more than one day a week to be a good NFl QB.The Questions about Murrays getting by on Athletic ability and not wanting to take the time or effort for the learning part is a legitimate concern.

Just look at all those poor amateur (for one more day at least) athletes being exploited by the NFL PR machine.
