You have got to be kidding right? Magic played in those years and he is part owner of the Lakers and I will take his word over your dubious notions any day of the year. LMFAO!!!!!!!
Stop with this hilarious stuff you keep writing, I probably know more about the Lakers than you will ever know. I went to my first Laker game in 1979 when Magic was Rookie...I still have the Program. I went to 2 of 3 the parades in 80's. I was there! In fact, I will say that I was a true follower of that team during the show time era. Just because I like the Clippers more doesn't mean I don't know what I am talking about...GET REAL!
It's a shame that you have to resort to implying I don't know crap about the Lakers cause i like the "other" team. You sound like a child when you try to rationalize it.
Ohhhhhhhhhh so the whole world knows or the most storied rivalry in sports and because Magic says its not so.... you blindly follow.
I guess since the first game I attended was 1965 I trump you. I really don't know what that proves but so be it. The rivalry is NOT determined due to the players involved, it's the teams. How can you have a USC vs Notre Dame rivalry? Or are you implying there isn't one? What about all the others? Come on, you are sounding like a fool to deny it.
Abdul-Jabbar was asked to relive the moment when he dropped his normally stoic demeanor after hitting a sky hook with a minute to play in Game 6 of the 1985 Finals, all but clinching the Lakers' first championship
triumph over Boston in nine tries. Abdul-Jabbar, a big grin on his
face, ran down the Boston Garden court that day, arms spread, fists
clenched.
"A lot of
years of frustration for our franchise and for me personally
were over," he recalled. "The chance to get that monkey off our back
and finally beat them was very important for our franchise.
You want to call it a fan rivalry, so be it. What's the real difference anyway? You don't think the 60's and 80's Celts and Laker players are heated about this matchup? The owners? Use some common sense. You said it's not a rivalry and 99% of the world says it is. Not much more can be said on the topic.
