This is what I find weird.

NFL teams pretty much always sit starters last preseason game, that's not a surprise.

But why is Bartel still on this team? Cards are not going to keep 4 QBs and give the guy a chance to make another team.

So he can take meaningless second half where you dont even risk lindley.

One thing is certain: Kolb or Big John beating on scrubs won't convince the warring parties that the other deserves to start. I'll back whomever is under centre come the 9th of September.

Which games did either QB "beat on scrubs"?

I must have missed them.

I think Thursday's game will all about learning more about what our OL can or cannot do, plus sorting out a bunch of other roster battles. (The only positions totally locked up - both starters and backups - are FB and K,P, Snapper).

As to "Wiz having already decided between Kolb and Skelton" - If he knew, he'd say. There's no real benefit to delaying the decision any more than he has to.

Sure there is, so the other team doesn't know who to prepare for.

Do they prepare for the guy who they can sack at will, or the guy who they don't have to scheme for because he locks on one receiver and throws it high.

I agree with those who say this makes no sense. Both Kolb and Skelton can use more work. If the decision has been made as to the starter, it should be announced instead of playing games. Look around at what other teams are doing. You pick the guy and have everybody work with him.

I realized that when I wrote that post; but concluded that, since neither Skelton or Kolb looked especially good, that trying to game plan against either one would have marginal benefit.

It's the smart move. No sense risking either QB behind that awful offensive line.

Barrel is still on the team so he can play the 2nd half Thursday. On a positive note it gives Richard a chance to audition for teams like KC who might be looking for a #3 QB.

I can see it already...

Kolb out of indefinite period...
September 22, 2012

Tempe, AZ

Kevin Kolb suffered what appears to be a significant concussion while exiting his car after a meeting at Cardinals headquarters... Preliminary reports are that Kolb, already with a history of concussions, was on his cellphone while attempting to exit his vehicle. Distracted by the conversation, he miss-judged his exit and slammed his head on the frame of his car.
Reports indicate that Darnell Dockett found Kolb on the ground beside his car with the driver's side door open and Kolb clinging to this phone, unconcious. Dockett, apparently fed up with Kolb's inablity to take a hit, kicked Kolb a few times in an effort to wake him. Kolb eventually did come to - and asked Dockett what the score of the game was. According to reports, Dockett was so incensed that he pushed Kolb back to the ground, yelling "Man... my 8 year old son is tougher than you!"
John Skelton has been named the starter with Ryan Lindley now the #2...

My sources report that 9-0 stole Kolb's phone and went back inside the facility to take a quick shower.

Yeah, because Kolb lost the competition, but will still 'win' the job. (Note that the word 'win' is a joke in that sentence).

Apparently not. because as of yet we have zero clue who will be the starter. By teh way your opinion is not the end all be all in the matter of who "won"
