Any guesses on how Desmond is going to show the rest of the Oceanic passengers their alternate lives? It took pretty traumatic events for Charlie and Des to see them -- choking and auto accident/drowning.

Also, do we know what it is that has made Desmond so willing to go along now? I didn't see anything in his flash-sideways that would have made me wake up on the island and think "oh, yeah, it all makes sense now. Come on, Widmore, let's go do whatever the hell it is you want to do." Also, he doesn't seem to phased when Sayid derails the plan that he seemed so phsyched on just moments before. Does he realize he's not in control of his own fate, and is now okay with being buffeted along by whatever happens?

Hilarious scene when Sayid jumps in kills some people and then tells Desmond to go with him because those people are crazy.

I half expected Desmond to come out of that chamber blue.

Well, it's not like he's never experienced this before. The same thing happened in "The Constant" from Season 4.

My newest wild theory really has no background to it and no proof yet that it is true, but I think Desmond will try desperately to get to Jack to convince him of this dual-reality or whatever it is. You convince Jack, you convince a lot of other people in the process. Like Widmore said, the island isn't done with him yet.

We all know that Desmond has "future flashes". Could it be that when he was in the EM chamber, he flashed forward and saw him and Penny and a new baby embracing and knew that whatever happened to him, he will eventually experience this?

Thus, he is really not concerned with anything that happens to him on the island. His fate is already sealed and he will be with Penny again.

That episode rocked. I've had a hard time not checking in and spoiling it for myself. Had to wait until tonight to watch it on DVR with my bro.

I've been against Hurley becoming a leader, but he remains the heart of the show and the transition makes sense. Hurley's still being Hurley, although I'm still not wholly convinced they've revealed enough to us to explain his sudden transformation. I'm willing to go along for the ride, though, because this episode moved at a very brisk pace and was extremely entertaining!
