Personally I am starting to question the coaching.

McDonough cleaned house last season of the supposed problem players. Of course perhaps some can blame Markieff but sooner or later the Suns have to examine themselves. The Suns cannot win without doing something well. The Suns offense is sputtering and I do not see Hornacek's vision there. Also I do not see the current Suns hanging their hat on defense which has been their stated focus. Their defense looks as bad as ever.

I think the question has to be asked, could another coach do better with last season's early roster or this season's roster? In another post I said if the Suns got off to a slow start, I don't think Hornacek will last 20 games. We show see. I think McDonough has done his best to give Hornacek what he wants.

I have been questioning him since last season.

Green and Goran arguably were our two best players from a 48 win team that most everyone expected to win 50 or more last year. He changed their roles, their play suffered and the Suns struggled to win. That is entirely on the coach IMO.

Hopefully Horny settles on his best 7 or 8 and gives them enough minutes to get used to each other and they stay in the flow of the game. I just do not see that it should be an equal opportunity process. You cannot spread the minutes out evenly amongst 12 guys. Most great coaches rely heavily on their first 7 or 8 players.

I have questioned and still question the play of both point guards. I really see very little leadership or consistent playmaking from either of them. I honestly do not know where to put that blame. Is it them or the coach? Is their individual skill or coaching that is lacking the most?

Lot's of questions. I like most expected an easy victory over the Mavericks. Maybe I am over reacting. I hope so.

I hope things change beginning tonight.

I don't get the Green love, especially as a condemnation of Hornacek (who I admit has some rotation issues). Horny is the only coach who has gotten through to Green... ever, and the dude has played in a LOT of places. Green being supposedly misused last year had the second best season of his career... and yet was a serious detriment. And people complain about ball movement, Green was the most selfish, ball stopping player on the team and by a huuuuge margin.

He is an abysmal defender, a monumental ball hog, when he isn't white hot shooting he kills his own team.

A good gunner off the bench but absolutely must be in a limited role and with a very short leash.

And if not for Horny finally getting through to him Green would probably be playing in another hemisphere.

I think you express the sentiments of many. Right now I see the talent but I do not see how it fits together. Hopefully that will change.

Right on queue Green is having a horror show of a game against the Cavs.

He is who he is, once every 4 or 5 games he might play well enough to win a game for you... but the other 4 he is hot garbage.

I think that's way to generous, maybe he was playing at that level for a stretch in 13/14, but for his career, including last year, he is crap far more often than he is good. The only nights he is a benefit is when he is super hot, and that does not happen every other game. While on the other hand he is always a defensive turnstile and ball stopper on offense.
