Oh, you're on my ignore list, but ASFN still sends updates when you make another one of your football-content-free posts.
Of all posters who could be on ignore...The report by K-9's that I was on his 'ignore' list also greatly overstated.

They all "study" chemistry with Brian Cushing. How come the Texans have a monopoly on all the best D Line and Linebackers?
They moved him to LB this year and hes killing it.
Even everyone's "cant miss" o-line player who was in our draft range (DeCastro) is "missing" the entire season.

cf Thomas Jones as villain,
Hey genius, open mouth, insert foot. DeCastro sustained a serious knee injury in the preseason, so...yeah...here's a towel to wipe the egg off your face. I always carry one and I never panic.
True but many of us who wanted DeCastro were saying if the Cards think it's too high up, move down. As i said the other day, if Floyd is as good as we apparently think he is, there should have been demand from other teams to come up and get him.
Elite OT's go in the top 10 picks these days so if you're picking where we picked you're never going to get the "can't miss" guys. You can't ignore the OL year after year.
I actually believe the Cards are still reeling from picking Levi over Peterson and again, Peterson is a totally different case than Floyd was, Peterson was much higher rated than Floyd was.
And if you can show me one post that said DeCastro would hurt his knee and miss the season I'd love to see it so I can ask that person what Tomorrow's megamillions numbers are.
I wasnt trying to say DeCastro's injury was predictable. The point was that for all the bellyaching about Floyd its not like there was a "sure thing" that would have fixed the line. We are in this situation because our two tackles went on the IR, and everyone's favorite draft lineman option for the Cardinals suffered the same fate they did.
Meanwhile some spare RB named Isaac Redman from Bowie State has 4 catches for 105 yards for the Steelers tonight. Why don't we ever have a player do that for us?

I pointed out he got hurt... you tell me he got hurt... so I have egg on my face? Yes, DeCastro is out for the year, I am well aware.

This. We just need to start signing as many raw athletes at RB as possible and hope one works out.
I just can't understand why we so seldom get a big contribution from our 2nd and 3rd tier players. Other teams do it to us all the time.
Dockett, LSH, Hightower, Acho, Sherman, David Carter, O'Brien Schofield, John Skelton, Greg Toler, Steve Breaston.
These are all third-round picks or later who've made "big" contributions. LSH had two huge TD receptions without which Kolb likely would be on the street right now.
Those are starters and almost all veterans. I'm talking about guys like Groves or Powell or Bethel or LaRon Bryd or Jim Dray.
But then I guess I'm asking a lot since other than Fitz most of our starters on offense haven't been having big games.
Even the guys you list and our other starters haven't really had that many above the norm games. Skelton vs SF last season. Wells vs the Rams last season. Andre Roberts v Miami. Just a lot of lunch pail games. Good steady play.
I'm really talking about games where fans of other teams look at it and go wow who's that guy? Like Jerheme Urban v Seattle in 2007.
Floyd is really starting to piss me off. Too many drops, not enough production to justify taking him over OL in the first round. He needs to step it up when he gets a chance to get on the field because he has been underwhelming other than in the Philly game.
Mmm... Well, Quentin Groves had a big game a couple of weeks ago, collecting a big sack. Jim Dray is basically an above-average special teams player, but I think that national fans will look at Housler's game (especially if we start connecting on those big passes) last week and take notice. Otherwise, Jeff King had an enormous beginning to 2011 before backsliding some as the season went on. Andre Roberts had a big game against Dallas last year or two years ago.
Part of it is that we're not putting opponents away enough to really have backups come in and break out when we're resting guys. Part of it is that it's rare to see what you're talking about (I'm not sure you've provided an example of what you mean--are you talking about the annual Justin Forsett-type backup RB running for 85 yards and 2 TDs against us?). I think that everyone here is so used to our roster that we're not surprised when someone comes out and really makes plays.
Actually, you said he was missing, which I and others took for 'not contributing'. I'm not the only one to read it that way either. Too ambiguous, dude.
I said he was "missing the entire season"... which is a pretty direct way of saying he is out for the year. And I dont believe anyone else misconstrued it. But whatever.
I guess my big issue is, does he practice or not?
He's a rookie and they often look lost but for limited time the penalties and the drops are surprising but the total lack of where he's supposed to be and go is alarming. either Kolb is wrong every time, or he keeps breaking off or changing routes on timing patterns.
The near picksix on the goalline where he got the penalty, clearly Kolb thought was going to stop and threw it. The way he pushed it looked like that was the play, but then he took off and the ball nearly went the other way. I guess I don't know for sure but I really think that was supposed to be basically the same play we ran to Fitz on 4th down but Floyd changed his route.
VERY unpolished player so far.
Does have obvious size and some talent but man he comes off as completely unaware.
What bugged me last night is his increased PT seemed to come at the expense of Housler who was MUCH more effective.
