Funny thing is that these guys (Steve and Dirk) are best mates and would never start an argument like that.

Back on topic, Kobe winning the mvp is a joke.

Its as if the media was just wating for the Lakers to have a decent season so they could give it to him.

Exactly why did Kobe win the MVP this year? His play wasn't that great this season, and the Lakers were mediocre AT BEST when they didn't have Gasol.

You could make a better case that Gasol deserves that MVP more than Kobe.

Memphis's GM is the true MVP. . . he made the Lakers a true contender

Dirk versus Nash

WC Titles

Dirk 1 Nash 0

That's sad considering how much talent Nash has around him and how little talent Dirk has around him in comparison.

Nash and Dirk respectively have had fantastic seasons and both deserving of the MVPs the year they won them. However, its a huge stretch to compare MVPs if your going to cherry pick a year that's not related to the year they won the MVP.

Like I said comparing them as MVP's is no contest for all the reasons I posted above. If you want to argue there have been better MVPs then Steve then I agree. Dirk's not one of them.

Same could be said about you and Kobe....with all due respect.

I do. With all due respect.

There's no doubt I have a man-crush on one of the greatest basketball players I've ever had the thrill to watch. He, Magic and James Worthy I all crush on.

I have no shame in admitting that.

And thats why Memphis was doing soooooooo good when they had Gasol.

LOL

Well, if you look at his averages with both team, you will find he was doing just as well with both but the difference is he just like Kobe, have better players around them. Who did Gasol have besides Miller in Memphis? Rest my case.

Dirk's just a better player and led a less talented team farther.

Based on what? your man love?

Based on the fact that in order to win a case you have to actually present one that makes a modicum of sense. You are piggybacking on a claim that Pau deserves the MVP more than Kobe.

wasn't "piggybacking" on any claim. I was merely making an observation that Gasol was racking up the same numbers with the Griz and that both Players needed each other to succeed. I never said or implied he deserves the MVP. Might want to go back and read my post...Your claim is dismissed...

Joe, you quoted a guys argument towards da suns fan, arguing that Pau was more deserving than Kobe. forgive me for seeing it as you piggybacking, but that's what happens when you jump into an in-progress conversation.

This thread needs to die, I am so sick of the Laker talk, seriously people let it die.

I love all these people that discredit Kobe as an MVP cause he has good talent around him. You people weren't bitching when Steve Nash did the same thing twice were you?

Some of you Suns fans are such hypocrites, you're pathetic. Kobe is MVP, the people that vote on it had him by a surprising margin. That's life, get over it, and get over yourself. You're only arguing against him because he's a Laker and you know it. If Kobe wore a Suns jersey, and had the exact same season, this thread would be about how Kobe is god.

:biglaugh: You keep getting more comical by the moment. Your right..Dirk does have more dubious honors then Nash.

PS. You have had the better coach.

I guess I can see how you came to that conclusion but that is not what I meant. You can also look at The Machine's statement as diminishing Gasol's contributions to the Lakers by comparing his old team's record. That is what I saw when reading his comments.

Most posts are jumped into an in-progress conversation if we want to get technical. Anyway, all is good...

Paul was robbed of the MVP

kobe is not mvp. Lakers without Kobe are still good. Odom and Gasol with Fisher at PG is still a damn good team. there is no way in hell Kobe is more important to lakers than Paul is important to Hornets.

Without Paul, hornets suck. Tyson Chandler goes back to being 2 points, 13 rebounds softie, etc.......

such sad that kobe was given mvp. look at Lakers roster, they are STACKED due to cheating trade for gasol and then that whole fisher 'my daughter is sick' thing

whoa, wait a minute! I agree with just about everything you've said but the Fisher thing is out of line. She is sick and staying situated where her daughter can get help has nothing to do with joining up with the Lakers. Have a little heart will ya?
