You know Walter, In respect to the way Green has treated some of the players, you are absolutely right. I hope that you are wrong and he turns Arizona into a winner, but I've been reading your articles for a while and I understand you to be a very strong football mind and a very good writer, I'll miss your articles.

I do not remember us ever hiring a coach who I did not have good feelings about or at least neutral feelings about going into the season. Dennis Green is the first exception to this. I was excited at first but as he began to talk and cut I have come to think this will be one great mistake that will put us back another 3-4 years. If he last more than 2 years I will be supprised. I also guess the Bidwills and Graves are now having some second thoughts. With all that is happening our chances of getting free agents becomes even worse than it was and was as bad as you can get. Cutting Pete Kendall was stupid to say the least. Here we are with a rookie probably going to start in an offensive line that seems destined to be horrible.

Thats your opinion just like Endzone has one. I disagree with your opinion. He deserves no respect from me.

Walter has been nothing but respectful of people, even when they rip his articles to shreds (like last week). That deserves respect. It's the people who classlessly rip on other posters here (and you appear to be trying to join that group, my friend) who are losing the right to be respected. If you show people respect, you deserve theirs.

I'm not trying to pick a fight with EZ, you, or anyone else. All I'm saying is that if you don't agree with Walter's decision to leave, or the jist of his post, you can say so without being an ass about it...or at least you SHOULD be able to do that. Some people here (and I'm not pointing to you or EndZone) don't appear to be able to disagree with others without being an ass about it (hence, skkorp's post about insults and language).

That's all I'm trying to say. If you want the last word, go for it. I've said my piece.

I find it interesting you would mention Skkorp's post on insults and name-calling.

All I know is, I'm going to be like the Michael Jordan of posters.... Announce my retirement with a huge heart warming post, then just show up the next day like it never happened, wait a week and do it again.

Repeat 5 times a year

Wait! If Walter's leaving, who is going to pimp our camp bodies and roster cuts as potential Pro Bowlers? Who is going to insist season after season that Raynoch Thompson is ready to break out? Who will represent for Riall Johnson as a "relentless pass rusher"?

Walt, I liked your articles, even if I rolled my eyes at them, but this board is bigger than any contributor save Skkorp. Sorry to see you leave, but maybe you'll be able to gain some perspective on just how sorry this roster was under Mac.

In regards to the reference to Skkorps post on insults and language....I am pretty sure but I don't think I did either.( use foul language or insult anyone)

Smug posts like Walters piss me off. I don't think I responded to any of his latest articles but to the better than thou I am going to take my ball and go home attitude...that doesn’t float with me and I am entitled to that view.

I am coming to the conclusion that most Card fans/Arizonans are a bunch of freaking malcontents. The process goes something like this;

1. "Waaaa, we never spend money on players!"
2. Cards spend money on players
3. "Waaaa, we never sign good players!"
4. Sign a coupld of good players
5. "Waaaa, Bill Bidwill sucks!"
6. Michael Bidwill and Rod Graves change the face of the team
7. "Waaaa, our stadium sucks!"
8. Get new stadium
9. "Waaaa, our coaches suck!"
10. Hire solid coach with proven track record
11. "Waaaa, our coach is mean/stupid/incompetent!"
12. Fire coach
13. Repeat

Appreciate your work Walter, but your jumping ship on the Cards and/or not providing your insightful football knowledge makes the board worse off.

Wrong! Being a mod requires you to be an emotionless automaton. You should be pre-programmed to feel nothing. that is, after all, what this message board is for, to help people follow rules and regulations.

Well for one its not your site. And for two if I'm not a mod then so what I come here because I am a fan. I was asked to do this.

[IMHO]And there lies an inherent problem, with being a mod - you cannot act like a member. There is a different standard and perception when you have 'power'. You cannot act like a member, nor can you post like one, because everything you do reflects on the community, as a whole.

Your last sentence, in that paragraph, speaks volumes and none in defense of your position. You were ASKED to do this. No one held a gun to your head or threatened to take away your season tix. You could just as easily ask to not do this, then you could act like a regular fan & member.

Part of my moderator agreements contain wording telling the new moderators that they are there to assist the members, to direct the members and to answer their questions. It also states that if you have issues with a member, they should be worked out, in private.

In other words, a moderator has to be heavy on PR, light on emotion, both attributes contrary to being a fan.

In the end, and on the surface, it may appear that your actions and moods aren't adversely affecting the site. But since there are no exit interviews here, you'd be rather hard pressed to make a claim that you weren't affecting the decisions of others to stay, go or never participate in the first place.

If you want to be a fan, fine. If you want to be a mod, wonderful. But you cannot publicly be both, when someone says something contrary to your opinion, but within the rules of a community.[/IMHO]

my god, the tables really have turned. the darksiders used to get these ridiculous messages.

walter, i very rarely, if ever, agreed with anything you had to write. HOWEVER, i always enjoyed spirited debate with you and your articles always spawned discussion, usually heated discussion, which i view as a GOOD thing. you'll be missed.

btw, i completely disagree with your take on dg.

Or even a "definite" one. :BIM:

Ouchie handles the disagreements between Cards fans with class, and doesn't respond unless provoked. Like me, when he says that a player sucks, it's because he thinks that the Cardinals franchise deserves better.

Some of my favorite Walter memories:
- Saying that Marcel Shipp is reminiscent of Priest Holmes last season.
- The continuous insistence that the Cards not only had the personnell to run an effective 3-4 defense, but ought to use it as our base.
- His championship of Jason Goss, the 5'10", 186 lbs cornerback who has appeared in 4 games in his career, and notched one tackle.

Favorite kerouac moments:

Always pimping Wendell Bryant as a star

Always pimping Levar Fisher as going to break out

Using Madden video game as a source for player evaluation

Sorry couldnt resist! :D
