Marion to BOS is a non-starter. Marion has decided he doesn't want to go to BOS. I still think Ainge and Pierce need to call because they would have a helluva squad with Marion....

The point I'm making is that Marion's agent may say that publicly but money can make the difference. As you stated if Ainge and Pierce call him and he is offered an extension........well its a business and be wanted and getting paid is important.

If the Suns can get Horford I don't see a desperate need for KG. Maybe the Suns can just deal directly with Atlanta for the #3 or more likely the #11 pick. Maybe the Suns are thinking that Noah just might slide to #11.

For those thinking a Marion to Atlanta deal is possible, check out their salary structure. Joe Johnson about $13 mil next year, and the next highest salary is Speedy Claxton at $6 mil. The only way to make it work without taking back JJ is to have a package of Claxton, Williams, and Pachulia. That's about $14 mil in salary back plus whatever pick it is you're hankering for. But it won't happen, because that's both Hawks' point guards. Unless you want to sub Williams out for Tyronn Lue, who I think makes $3 million.

Calling in a workout for a top 15 player a week before the draft means something big is in the works...

Amare + 24 + fillers for Garnett + #7 is about to go down, I have a feeling.

Maybe contingent on Noah being there.

I could live with that. Thomas is the filler, so it's Noah/Garnett/Whiny/Bell/Nash with Barbosa/Hill?/Jones/Banks?/#29? on the bench. Could be worse.

This is not encouraging.

I was more than willing to belittle Shawn Marion when we were talking about trading him for KG but trading him for ANY combination of lesser players and picks will NOT make the Suns a better team.

No Way!

I can't tell if your post is dripping with sarcasm or not, but if it is, don't kid yourself Chris. He's a top ten player... being called in for a team with no chance to draft him. that says something - don't know what, but it's newsworthy.

How about Gasol from Memphis.? They have the 4th pick. He wants to be traded and is still saying this in the paper where he lives.

Although to get Gasol and the 4th pick would take a lot I would think.
Still something to think about with Iavaroni there.

i disagree - if we somehow landed Noah AND Miller in a Marion deal, this team wioll be much better, deeper AND longer. You'd have that fourth three point shooter who was desperately missing this year. You'd have more size with Noah, probably the same rebounding and blocks and and you'd have more depth, especially if we signed Hill.

A trade to Memphis (who last year their owner mandated a change to a more run and gun style) of Marion and Hawks pick not only makes us deeper, longer and with better shooting, but it sets us up very well for the future as well.

Or that they are just bored. :D

IMHO, The most likely could be something along the lines of #24 and the Atlanta pick to a team like the Hawks with two first round picks and too many young players. Obviously this is not happening if the Suns have some other deal higher in their priority listing, but if Noah dropped to #11 they might consider it.

Good idea? I'm skeptical, but they may want to take a look if it is on the table.

yeah I would have to agree... I don't think this is as much a sign of Amare being traded as it is another trade......

Steve Kerr said he was having 12-14 different trade conversations at the time of the interview, so there are 12-14 different scenarios it could be...

Personally I would be STOKED if we got Miller, #4 for Marion... infact thats officially my plan B. to Garnett hope.... although I sure as HELL don't want Cardnial on the team.....How about this trade

Suns Trade:

Shawn Marion
Marcus Banks
#24 #29 picks
2008 ATL pick

Suns Recieve:

Mike Miller, Stomile Swift, #4

A rotation of

PG: Nash/Barbosa
SG: Bell/Barbosa
SF: Miller/Diaw
PF: Amare/Swift
C: Noah/KT

With Barbosa, Swift, Diaw and KT coming off the bench I think we would have the deepest bench in the league, in fact Im not sure we would have room for Grant Hill........:D

Our starting front court of Amare, Noah, Swift, and KT are as deep as can be, ans our backcourt of Nash, Bell, Barbosa, Miller, Diaw... I don't think we would trade that backcourt for any in the league...

Defensivly we are sound, we are versitle, and deep.... and with this deal we cut payroll as well..

As in all trades I realize it is VERY unlikely, but I would be stoked with this scenario...

I hate to agree with you, :) but you are right about getting Miller, a 3 point shooter the suns really need, and a big that can play suns style basketball, while giving them some defense in the middle.

This would really solve the two problems that I think the suns have, need for a shooter, and some interior defense.

while this trade would be tempting (particularly if horford happened to drop to number 4 - good lord i'd wet myself), there is no way a rookie will step onto the suns starting lineup and average 9 - 10 rebounds per game. not in his rookie season.

There has been talk about the Suns trying to move up in the draft. And it is no secret Noah is a player they were interested in for a couple of years. All this means is they want to see if Noah is really worth moving up for, should opportunity present itself.

I know the Suns love Noah. I can see three possibilities here:

1. They're shopping Atlanta's pick for a late lottery pick, contingent on Noah being there. I'm sure Atlanta wouldn't mind getting their pick back, for instance;

2. They're considering backup trades for Marion;

3. They like Noah sooo much that they're asking themselves whether they'd rather have Noah or Amare moving forward.

#3 actually seems the most likely. Noah obviously doesn't have Amare's will to dominate, but beyond that, his ability right now (and of course moving forward) is an open question. If the Suns decide Noah is a young Tim Duncan who's just never bothered to show more than he had to...

Wouldn't the Suns still have KT?

Amare average 8.7 his rookie year.... I think Noah/Horford could Average 8-9 RPG.... especially if we have Miller at SF, Amare, and Noah/Horford would be there for all the rebounds, I think it would be VERY likely they would...

And if it was for all Amare (heaven Forbid) then I agree it would be unlikely the rookie would average 9 RPG with Marion and Garnett in the Fron court.....

I think you're the only person on earth that thinks this highly of Noah.

I don't think this has to do with Minnesota unless everyone is sure that Noah is dropping to 7. This could be a deal to get Marion to the Grizzlies if Iavaroni really wants him there.

Marion, Banks, 24 and 29 for Miller, Cardinal, Swift and the 4 pick? Of course, I'd rather have Horford here, but the Suns do seem to love Noah a lot.

I'd be all over that trade, so I doubt it'd ever happen.

Well, how good is Noah, anyway? "As good as he's needed to be to win the NCAA championship" is the best I can do.

There's no question Noah has coasted a great deal during his college career. How much potential hasn't he tapped yet?
