I think you're the only person on earth that thinks this highly of Noah.

I'm not getting into rationale or comparisons, but if the Suns think he is a player then I would love for the Suns to figure out a way to get him.

But I don't here the Suns comparing him to Duncan.

Well, how good is Noah, anyway? "As good as he's needed to be to win the NCAA championship" is the best I can do.

There's no question Noah has coasted a great deal during his college career. How much potential hasn't he tapped yet?

He's been most often described as a Varejao who can handle the ball. A lot of commentators think he could do very well on an up tempo team with a taller version of small ball. Marion can't shoot well either.

How much is that worth?

That's odd, because Varejao handles the ball very well for a big man.

One thing I didn't like to see was Noah's wingspan, which screams "white guy". Aside from that, comparing him to Camby makes more sense IMO because of his hops and frame.

Well its not like we have to get #7...

Noah could be on the board at #11, say we trade #29 and Atlantas pick to Atlanta for #11...

I mean Noah isn't a lock to go in top 8.

That's what I was thinking. At #11, Atlanta may not want anyone if they go Horford at #3 while Conley being gone by no later than #6. So, they might even do #11, #29 (or 24), Lue for their own 08 pick and Banks.

Maybe contingent on Noah being there.

I could live with that. Thomas is the filler, so it's Noah/Garnett/Whiny/Bell/Nash with Barbosa/Hill?/Jones/Banks?/#29? on the bench. Could be worse.

That's an absolute No no. Noah is a good complement to Amare but makes not much sense next to Garnett. And Whity should be gone anyway this offseason!

I'd say by percentage, blacks have longer arms than both whites and yellows. But while Yao has extremely short arms, Yi supposedly have very long arms. And Brewer has also short arms I believe.

even if my estimate with Noah is high at 9-10 boards/game, if he averages 7-8 and Miller's thrown into the group, he's a decent rebounder for a SF and better than James Jones' 3.2 at 5/game, so I think things would even up a little bit there. and like I said, we'd be much deeper/more versatile/bigger (this trade keeps KT in the mix).

Marion, Atlanta pick for Miller, #4 and whatever needs to be filled in to make salaries work.

the question is - why would Memphis do it? maybe here's a couple - but there still probably reaches: a) up tempo team, wanted to emulate the Suns last year AND got Ivey to further that b) Rudy Gay, Marion and Gasol is a frontcourt that has size, rebounding and shooting - and Marion can play the four there like he did with us. c) are they really gonna take ANOTHER tweener at 4 - a guy who's not an immediate imapct maker with their star already pretty pissed about being there?

I don't know - but it's intriguing.

hell, we could also off Banks with 24 also - thus opening up even more cap room up to get us under the tax.

I was hoping Atlanta could absorb Marion's salary.

Nobody with enough cap room would in his right mind sign a role player to a max deal, not even a role player of Marion's caliber.:(

I gotta tell ya, if we could swing a deal for Miller and #4 you'd HAVE to take it. It allows you to remains just as good, if not better next year and then, it also sets up an extremely solid core to build around once Nash is gone:

Barbs
Diaw
Noah
Amare

and with Nash coming off the books, you add a solid FA in there and we can pretty solidly transition from one era to the next with a young group of really versatile playmakers/shooter/scorer, with length.

that being said, it's too good to be true and it will never happen.

I can't tell if your post is dripping with sarcasm or not, but if it is, don't kid yourself Chris. He's a top ten player... being called in for a team with no chance to draft him. that says something - don't know what, but it's newsworthy.

No sarcasm at all. I said top 15 because some people on here don't like him and I didn't want to argue more today. Worked out well. LOL :)

Noah might be thought of as a replacement for Marion in the small ball lineup. He's considered a very good perimeter defender, rebounds well, and gets up and down the court. Marion is much faster, but Noah is a better ball handler. Neither can defend the low post.

I'm not sure if it makes any difference, but any trade of Marion requires thinking ahead.

he definitely has potential, but duncan? c'mon man.

and it's not like he lead that team to the ncaa championship. there are two other guys being touted as top 5 picks potentially and taurean green may have worked his way into the first round as well. that's a ton of talent.

I see Noah as a Marion hustle with Camby ability kind of guy. Hybrid player who would thrive here but struggle elsewhere.

Atlanta has $48 million of slop for a team salary. They're less than $6 million under the cap, not enough to absorb Marion's salary, and it's unlikely Atlanta wants to go over the cap.
