I don't know about "waste of a pick" It seems we just drafted the ANTI-JJ Arrington... and that is not a waste of a pick.....:D

UDFA, good thing we didn't use our late round picks to move up earlier :bang:.

I just can't believe we left so much OL talent on the board.

If you are drafting for specialist type players at this point.. there are better players or comparable players from actually winning programs that should be drafted..

Schmitt, Washington, Silva.. Id rather take one of these guys who have been top players at their respective positions, playing at the highest level of college ball..

This last pick annoys me

I would have preferred Cory Boyd or Chauncey Washington if we were going to get a running back there. We could have taken Hightower at least a round later. I'm not too thrilled with picks four and five.

My problem with the last two picks is it seems we could have gotten Kenny Iwebema in the 5th and Timothy Hightower in the 6th.

I don't get why we'd go Hightower over Omon...they're both from small schools but Omon is bigger, faster, more elusive and led the nation in rushing and had 37 TDs last year. If we wanted goal line, go Shmitt.

BAD pick.

the scouting report on hightower said he's a captain kind of player. mel kiper likes him JTS....he says home-run speed is the only reason he isn't drafted much higher.

The dolphins brough Hightower in to meet with him, I wouldn't mind a HB who Parcells likes.

As I understand it... Kiper said he is a 4th round prospect and could have gone high with that game breaking speed...

I don't love the pick, but I think he could definently contribute next year in an area we sucked in.. Short yardage....And getting those 3rd downs on a consistant basis could be the difference in a lot of close games...

So I think as a 5th round pick, we could have done worse

according to Great Blue rankings we just drafted the 22nd DE and 25th RB in the last 2 rounds. Nice.

I'm a bit bewildered by todays picks but I'm willing to wait and see how they turn out.

i originally said bad pick for this guy, but ive been kicking it around in my head.
what are the reasons we need a backup for edge?
1. homerun threat
2. GOAL LINE

this guy is a goal-line/short yardage back. I think he will be productive in that role. im going to give him a chance. just imagine the niners on his back

Scout.com has him as the 10th best RB in the draft right behind Ray Rice...

AND he ran a 4.51 not a 4.6.. thats a pretty big difference...

Overall I think it was a decent pick for the cards
