Probably if the player is subject to waivers....meaning can be claimed by another team...whereas released means they are basically a FA. I may be way off.

I'd rather give him 1 series in week 2 at home, if he can go. I don't want any important players even stepping foot on the field in Minnesota. Keep them in the locker-room in street clothes.

Disagree. No use babying a guy who you are likely cutting next year. I would want to confirm that he is good enough to go and I am not moving on from another player on the roster. Not saying he should play a ton of snaps with the backups but I am saying that if he is good to go, he should play with the starters.

Yeah he needs to get back into football shape first and that will take a few weeks. Once he is then I would put him back in with the starters.
