What was that crap at the end of the game acting like he can't walk? I'd be even more pissed if I was one of the lackeys holding him up. I wouldn't take that clown in the 7th round, what a d'bag. I hope he declares for the draft and see what his value really is. Btw, Mallet is a whiney ass also. I don't want him either.

Good thing Tressel got that "guarantee" Pryor would be back next season. What a joke. He should have just benched his ass if he really thought he shoudl be punished regardless.

That dude's god as gone... and will be a bust in the NFL. What a douche just not answering that question at the end of the game.

He can't declare for the draft as that was part of his punishment for the 5 game suspension (which BTW is a complete joke). Not like it really matters anyway as he was a mediocre NFL QB prospect to begin with.

no it wasn't. Tressel made them "pledge" to come back if he played them in the Sugar Bowl, but that pledge has no power whatsoever in the real world.

Maybe I heard things wrong. Either way he shouldn't declare as he's a mediocre prospect anyways

I heard them compare him to Matt Jones on the pre game show, who was converted to WR--that shows you what they think of his chances as an NFL QB.

If there was any agreement about that then Tressel blackmailed them which they could take to court and easily get out of it. I hope this Sugar Bowl win for OSU is good enough for the fans because I can't see how any good player will want to play for a guy like Tressel anymore.

What? The players at OSU almost universally love Tressel. And no he didn't blackmail them. He can't force them to stay. What he basically told them is, if you give me your word that you'll come back next season rather than worming your way out of your suspension, then I will let you play the game. Tressel and OSU would have been entirely in their jurisdiction to suspend them for the game whether they were going to stay next year or not.

That Tressel trusts their word that they are coming back is a reason why the players like him, not a reason why they shouldn't.

I woukld ordinarily agree with that sentiment but come on, Tressel knows it's entirely possible those kids will leave, he just wanted to win a Bowl game against the SEC to get that monkey off his back.

Hell Pryor was MVP of the game, I haven't checked Ebay yet to see what he's asking for that trophy.

Oh I agree they should have been suspended. Just don't agree with saying major players won't want to play with him or that he can be sued for blackmail.

Yeah I don't agree with that either but I think in this case he's as bad as the players because he knows it's entirely possible Pryor et al still turn pro. I think the pledge to stay was more about covering his butt in the media, so if Pryor does leave and people rip Tressel's handling of it he can say hey he pledged to stay.

He'd have probably lost his job down the road, if he barred the players and OSU lost.

I would not trust TP to honor his word. His ego will see NFL QB. He really needs another year but even at that he is not an elite prospect. I just can't see him being willing to sit 5 games. But I also can't see OSU accepting that 5 game penalty. I think it will get reduced.

Pryor is heading back to OSU. I actually like waht Tressel did for once. He put the onus on the players to honor their word. Most of the time anymore nonbody want the hold the players responsible, citing the "they're kids they make mistakes" excuse.

I officially can't stand Pryor due to how terrible he is. He is just not a good QB.

I suspect the OSU legal team will get the NCAA to reduce the suspension from 5 games. Probably knock it down to 2. The school is the one that should get the bulk of the sanctions for lack of institutional control.
