If we sign Peyton, I really think I might break down and cry tears of joy. This would be the most incredible signing we've ever had, in name alone! This guy is arguable the GREATEST QB EVER!!
I am pretending to be manly and not admit I feel the same way.

How much will ticket prices increase if 'we' sign Peyton?

not at all this year. invoices already sent. Plus he signs and i think you can guarantee all of the club level seats will be sold out now as well unlike last year when it was a ghost town in that section. lots more revenue without raising prices.

Its called tampering, and it starts at the combine when GM's and Agents are in the same building. NFL's dirty little secret that isn't so secret.
An agent who writes for the National Football Post said as much in an article. He said if you really want to know what's going on at the combine to visit the Steak and Shake afetr 1am.

here's a couple excerpts:

Here’s a summary of what’s going on:
1) Free agency unofficially begins: This when the market for free agency begins to take shape. It’s commonplace for secret meetings (aka tampering-lite) between agents and team execs about top free agents who have not yet officially hit the market. As some teams are still working to keep their own players from hitting the street, they realize that if they don’t have them signed by now, their agents are talking to anyone who will listen.
More organized agents (myself included) will actually carry with them a handout sheet listing their free agents, some stats and notes about what kind of contract numbers we are seeking. Some deals even get done in Indy on a handshake.

The Combine would be even more entertaining if they could turn the camera on these happenings in the Steak and Shake after 1:00am.

If this actually gets done, Michael Bidwill will be the final reason. Its seems Wiz & Fitz already have a a semi-relationship with #18. If/when it happens Michael should be bronzed for eternity at the stadium right beside Pat Tillman!!!

dunno

Maybe - Maybe Michael learns what the ole man learned 70+ years ago?
But you swing at the fence and take your chance?

Kind of like Kolb last year, that was a pretty big risk! Can we trade Kolb with his current contract- probably not. Pretty sure we won't be able to trade PM and his contract next year.

Skelton was the top performer in all of our last 4 games ranged from 271 yards to 315 yards in those wins, John Skelton had a wonderful year if you project those stats over 16 games, even with the stupid unbalanced playcalling.

Yep. 2 years in a row it appears we're swining for the fences somewhat.

As well as Skelton played in 2nd halves of his games, he was equally bad in the 1st half. His inaccuracy & consistency is worse than the Texas weather. I still don't see Big John as the answer as the starter.

Big John's release was compared to Peyton's when he did the Sports Science bit. He just needs a good 2-3 year mentor!

yea

Whiz doesn't exactly put his QB's in position to succeed, Have you ever seen a max protect? Kolb, receiversand oline must make the same pre snap read- that determines 3-5-7- step drop or a roll out.

Folks don't even see that this is the only oline in history that reads and calls the protections, freeing the QB from that responsibility, bet cha peyton notices! yea when they miss read, and all are not on the same page it can look nasty. But when all works well -enough times in a row, you send an immobile QB to the SB and the HOF :)

26 or 28 sacks in 600+ passes, Peyton would take that. No matter how many Cardinal fans cry about it. But I'll bet a dime to a donut- Peyton runs our backs more than Mike Miller, Todd Haley and Ken Whisenhunt!

Cause peyton understand that balance is the key to protection and pass game production, He explained it quite well after destroying the 09 Cardinals, and their 10 rush attempts to the Colts 27.

I mean really what the heck could two sides talk about for soooo damn long? I understand a negotiation but other then that how long can it really take to get across what you want and what you are willing to do for Peyton?
Golfing may have entered the discussion :)

Contract negotiation will be handled with his agent. PM wants to get a feel for what the franchise offers, their vision for winning, how he can help them, how they can help him, talk to players he'd be working with and just an overall culture feel.

Anything you hear about PM favoring one team over another prior to Tuesday is bunk.

Said it in other threads and will say it again.. I'll be really, really surprised if PM isn't a Cardinal.

I wonder the same thing sometimes. Although if I were Peyton I'd want to know what they plan to do with the offensive line. He already knows about Fitz and the rest of the offense and he knows Whisenhunt. Cards gotta have a draft plan with Peyton and a different one without (if it doesn't pan out).

(I secretly still hope that huge bag he was carrying was full of footballs to throw. LOL)

:D
