In response to the original post:

Funny when Skelton went 6-2 he didn't get that respect, why should Kolb ? Asking for respect from people when said people don't give that respect back is ridiculous. If Kolb plays poorly you are going to hear it.

That being said, I fully support Kolb. I could care less what the numbers say, funny I say that in a thread full of people who bashed John Skelton because of his poor stats, a win is a win.

Kolb is leading this team to wins, and getting the job done when he needs to. Guy has my full support.

The big advantage Kolb has over Skelton is accuracy IMO. I'd venture to say Skelton couldn't have thrown that game-tying bullet to Roberts in the end zone. Now if he could just throw a decent screen pass......:bang:

And a lot of his adversity was cause by Masseys awesome game :D

Come on, Kolb is a BIG REASON the Cards are 4-0

Just like Skelton was a big reason the Cardinals we 6-2 at the end of last season ?

Or is the defense carrying Kolb ?

The defense is the big reason, just like it was last year. Kolb is the goat yesterday if Daryl Washington doesn't bail him out with a sack/forced fumble.

Because Skelton in no way shape or form during streak looked eve half as competant as Kolb. Just check the #s clear as day. Just a fact.

Here we go again.

No I won't check the numbers. Why rehash out something that is what it is. Skeltons stats are not good, but a win is a win.

You wanna break it down ? Fine. Kolb got his butt BAILED OUT by Daryl Washington or he is goat in this game.

Kolb looked competent yesterday ? At what point ? The game ending drive ? Yeah, I think Skelton has proved he can do that as well.

Ugh. The more things change the more they stay the same.

Skelton wins with late game heroics supported by a great defense, and Skelton is labeled as horrible, and the team won in spite of his play.

Kolb pulls the same stuff, and Kolb is a great QB.

Sorry guys, ain't buying it.

Kolb is playing well, he is winning games. He is NOT any better of a QB then Skelton is. Sorry, not going to buy that.

If we want to talk wins. Then Kolb has my complete support. Winning is all that matter with the current team around him.

If you want to talk QB play ? Kolb was innaccurate, held onto the ball too long, he is Jeckyl and Hyde in the redzone, and still has some very poor decision making skills. Check the tape, just fact.

Kolb is winning, that is ALL THAT MATTERS. No need to put lipstick on a pig when he has already won the county fair.

Who said half were on massie I think every sack he gave up in the game was on him. I think he gave up 4 to Wake and one to Misa IIRC.

In the first half massie got beat repeatedly, for every sack they got on him there was another play that his man got pressure it seemed.

I get why you think you're being called out and I'm not one doing that. I'm just saying I don't think the sacks were on Kolb I think they were on the tackles and that's why we went spread and other formations that you mentioned. It wasn't just to help Kevin it was to help Massie and Batiste.

I think at least 3 sacks were on Kolb completely. He held onto the ball WAY too long.

Also, for all the Bobby Massie bashing, the Atlanta Falcons had the SAME EXACT PROBLEMS (5 sacks by Charles Johnson) as the Cardinals did. Both won.

No doubt! Skelton can't even throw a ball out of bounds accurately. He misses the mark and throws ints(Seattle game). He's the blok. :D

Kolb and Skelton get along better than Kolb and Skelton fans. :D I like them both and I'm stoked that Skelton has had a chance to heal up, I was worried with Kolb's track record but he has held up. So no matter who you like, they are both available heading into our 5th game of our undefeated season...good times.

You are right !

Cause when Kolb keys in on Larry Fitzgerald he is MONEY!

Not to mention the fact our WR's had to knock AT least 2 other INT's down yesterday.

But, no Kolb is quite accurate. Ask the running backs who are catching those sweet screen passes right at the numbers, and guys like Housler who have to do everything in there power to catch the ball off the ground to haul in those ultra-accurate passes.

Good. Well, then we are Superbowl bound! We have a highly accurate QB who is great in the clutch, has great pocket presence, and makes excellent decisions.

I will be sure to ask you all about him in a few weeks. This thread is gold.

Of course they get along.

They both live in reality.

I don't mind Kolb being congratulated. He deserves it. He is playing well for the team right now, and I could not be happier.

The need for posters to over-dramatize the situation, and bash Skelton because blood is in the water to do so is just stupid, and lacks a base in reality.

D-dawg, you stuck by your horse, he is doing great. You should be ultra happy for Kolb since he is your guy.

And again, I am happy to. 4-0 is 4-0. Nitpicking details, is just that.

I wouldn't mind the switch to Skelton.

Although Kolb has been good/better than expected, Kolb was pretty shaky during Sunday's game. Even the long Roberts TD was underthrown.

Am I the only person on this thread that does not think EITHER Kolb or Skelton are the long term answer at QB? Am I the only one that saw Kevin Kolb get outplayed by Ryan Tannahill yesterday?

All I have seen from both QBs is inconsistent play, stupid mistakes, and the ability to make the most of the opportunties provided by the defense. Unlike most good teams in the NFL, the Cardinals are winning as a team rather than soley due to their QB.

I don't ever want to hear him slammed again after the adversity he overcame today & has since preseason!!!

The dude has earned my respect & hopefully everyone else's on this board as the QB of the Arizona freaking "4-0" Cardinals :D:D:D

IMO #4 today played like the QB we traded for & paid big $$$ to lead this team to hopefully a SuperBowl title. Stop the QB controversy, the Skelton talk because IMO it's over.

Way to go Big Red :newcards::newcards::newcards::newcards::newcards::newcards::newcards:

I have been a Kolb basher since the day we traded for him. He has played well enough to win and at times really looked good. A couple of these games could have gone either way such as Seattle and Miami. He has not looked like a Tom Brady by any means but has limited his mistakes and had some good receivers in Roberts, Fitz and even our tight ends. I think the real heroes remain our defense. These guys are a proven reality and have 12 games to prove it. I would like to say Kolb has proven to me he is for real but down deep I still worry. We barely beat a not so great Miami team and Seattle had about 9 tries to put the ball into the end-zone and a victory from the 5 yard line. Our defense stepped up as usual. Kolb has 12 more games to really prove he is our QBOTF. I think I read it has been since 1925 that we won the first 4 games of the year. Kolb certainly does get a lot of Kudos for our victories but do not forget that defense.

Jefferson is looking better but we still lack a real tough running game. Our defensive tackles are being eating alive. I do not know what we do here. Is there anyone we could pickup that has been dropped by some team? I do not see how we could do any worse and I do understand these guys are rookies. We cannot continue to double cover two of these guys and if we do not Kolb may not even finish the year. Kolb has looked very good at times and not so good at times. Right now I sure will take the 4-0 as I would have bet my house that would not happen. No game is a lock for us and we have to play them one at a time. I thought our big pass rush was missing from this game. Did anyone else think this? Did we have a different game plan on defense. Tanneyhill looked all world and certainly not like a rookie. I think he probably played better than Kolb. Many posters did not think he was worth drafting but obviously Miami saw something in him. Lots of poise and hanging in the pocket until the last moment.

Kudos again to our kicker. Pressure packed 48 yards to win the game. Not missed a kick all year or an extra point. It does not get any better than that. I would have been stupid and tried to get the ball closer before I let him kick which is why I do not make the big bucks. Our coach sure must have a lot of faith in him. I sure do and as always think these good kickers never get the acclaim they deserve. Over a season i wonder how many games are won or lost because of a kicker? I was watching Whiz closely as the ball went through the uprights. He showed no emotion what so ever. Meantime the players are going crazy. He Just took off his headphones with no smile or emotions showing. He must have ice in his veins. Guess he is not worrying about his job so much at the moment.

During this game I noticed our kicker was down near the receiver on the sideline when he was getting ready to receive a kick. He was telling the receiver where to position himself. Never have noticed that before so assume it must be a normal sort of thing. Petersen must also have ice in his veins as he seems to always make the catch for a run-back no matter where the coverage is. The fact that he had fumbled two of these kicks did not seem to effect him at all. Of course he recovered them. Is Howling injured? I do not recall seeing him yesterday. Maybe he was taking kickoffs and I just paid no attention. I kept looking for him to be in there on a run or so.

No. Clearly not. I don't think that Kolb was clearly outplayed by Ryan Tannehill yesterday, though. They're just really, really different players in really, really different offenses.

That's why I keep mentioning Kolb's salary and cap number for 2013. Kolb's playing for (essentially) a $9 million option in 2013. If the Cards make the playoffs, I think the option gets picked up regardless. If the Cards finish 9-7 and miss the playoffs and Kolb has four or five more games like yesterday's, I think you can reduce his salary by $3-5 million and everyone walks away happy.

If this is Kolb's best game of the year, he's probably going to find work with Cleveland or Jacksonville or back in Philly in 2013.

4-0.

There are a lot of good QB's playing behind worse offensive lines.

Matt Ryan, sacked 5 times by Charles Johnson. Better QB then either QB we have on the roster.

Not an excuse.

not me. I may bitch during a 3 hour window on Sundays, but every minute outside of that I am ecstatic. How can I not be? This team is so dedicated that they find ways to win games that they absolutely deserve to lose

You got to admit part of our success in the past 12 games has been partly luck. We won 4 overtime games last year and then one Sunday. NFL record. How long can you continue to do that? i hope for 12 more games but the odds cannot continue to go like this forever. How many times did Seattle get a shot at the end zone from inside the 5 yard line which could have won the game? Six or more? I cannot recall but how often does an NFL team fail to score inside the 5 and have 6 or more plays to do it? Philly last night sure did not look like the Philly we played.

I don't mind the team picking up the option on Kolb, but I do hope the see the situation for what it is and don't pass on a QB in round 1 if one is available. I just can't stop seeing Tyler Wilson being available and us passing on him because we have Kevin Kolb. Ugh.

Kolb is winning, that is ALL THAT MATTERS. No need to put lipstick on a pig when he has already won the county fair.

hmmmm you are severely skewing things to try and fit YOUR BOY!

Kolbs completion % is 62.6% Skelton 50% this year and 54.9% during his streak last year. Yea thats close to being the same! Lipstick or not! Oh and in no way shape or form in any NFL circle is a 62.6% completion rate considered as inaccurate!

TD to INT ratio for Kolb is slightly better than is 3-1 one for Kolb.. Im not a math Whiz but 11 TD to 14 INTs is nowhere close to to a 3 to 1 ratio??

Quarterback rating of 97.1 for Kolb to Skeltons 68.9 during his streak. Well thats a 30 point difference and clearly speaks for itself!

But you go on thinking they are exactly the same although you have nothing to base it off of. At least nothing accurate like picking out 3 or 4 bad throws a game. Yet with those throws still clearly is outplaying Skelton during his streak.

Simple because it is the QBs job to overcome it?

I joke, but this is what "Franchise" QBs do. They overcome their team's deficiencies. No excuses, get the job done.
Yamon. I think the Az QB job takes quite a minute to get used to. I don't know how much better Kolb will get, be if he improves and our line improves, we headed in the right direction. Grimm gotta go.

Then stick to "this".

If "this" is all you and many were saying I would agree 100%.

Umm you are the one that came in here bringing up Skelton not me. You were the one bringing his name up and calling him an equal. Nowhere in here did I trash skelton till you came in her claiming they are = on the field. Which clearly is false.
