I’m super optimistic about how this defense is playing as a collective. Nobody could have ever thought or expected this. Especially with the lack of talent across the DL. I’m optimistic to see what it can turn into with this staff if Monti actually gets some highly rated talent added into the mix.

Looking at the division and the schedules of all 4 teams... man if we somehow can beat Seattle at home I am very optimistic about our chances to make the Playoffs. This really feels like a do or die game, so I know I am gonna feel horribly anxious thinking about that game during the week but when Sunday arrives I am gonna be very optimistic (as always, can't help it).

Wanted to make this thread to cool off. It can do with us or it can also can do with the teams in our division.

What is your optimism?
2023 draft class looks real good. Williams looks like a budding star, Stills seems like a rotational DL at worst. I feel like Wilson can be a fine #2.

McBride is compelling and our best offensive player.

Rallis seems to be a find.

Cards are definitely ahead of schedule. They have played a monster schedule and are competing for the division. These young guys are only going to get better. Get some DL pass rush talent and they'll be a tough out next year.

Right?

We have played an absolute murders' row of a schedule and have battled toe to toe with all of the great teams this year (save WAS).

Somebody said in another thread we're close, and I agree. Got to sustain the effort through the end of the season, but we're on the way up.

We just played a 9-2 team on the road in a very hostile environment and legitimately should have won the game. We are still 6-6 and still are in the drivers seat to win the division.

That is a far cry from a team everyone on here pretty much agreed was the least talented in the league last year.

I think, contrary to many of our (myself included) opinions early in the season, we are indeed on a similar trajectory to the lion’s rebuild. I think where we go depends on whether murray can ascend alongside the growing talent.

If we beat Seattle this week, I'm still worried about Carolina and New England. They both looked scrappy yesterday.

Agree with all of this, but I can't help but feeling we'll end up feeling a lot of regret, from how FA was handled, to all the blown opportunities. (especially the last 2 games).

The West is down, the NFC is down, we allegedly have a franchise QB, and we should have made more of an effort to go for it this year.
