Darnell Dockett is a good example of how that article generalizes quite a bit.

I didn't much care for that "spinicle". I'm gonna wait for some more stuff to come out before I pull out my blame stick. In the article he mentions that folks don't know their history, and makes it sound like all the black players should side with Martin because he is part black?

I think most of the "suffering" Martin received was from the team, not just the scapegoat POS Incognito that ESPN just ran with and now the muthership is starting to realize they didn't do the in depth dogging they should have done.

I aint sure on anything, but I know I aint in no mob running after the first guy because of what ESPIN says or some article. I'm gonna be chillin Bob Dylan, laughing and waiting, millionaires and their locker room drama is sadly entertaining.

Why isn't Kerry Rhodes in the NFL??? ;)

How is Martin described?

Didn't want to pay for rookie dinner because of the unfairness of it all.
Didn't want to participate in team activities. A loner.
Didn't make eye contact.
Socially awkward.
Highly intelligent (went to Stanford)

Does he have Aspergers or is he on the autism spectrum? If so, the bullying aspect of this will come back into play eventually.

Because his parents are lawyers and he understands the system.

Today Cam Cleeland an ex teammate of Incognito issued the following comment “I’m not afraid to say that he was an immature, unrealistic scumbag,” Cleeland said. “When it came down to it, he had no personality, he was a locker-room cancer, and he just wanted to fight everybody all the time. It was bizarre beyond belief.”

I think it's pretty clear Martin isn't getting any "help" from the Dolphins so he's fully prepared and lawyered up now to take care of it through the legal system.

At this point he probably realizes his NFL career is over so he's going to use the legal system to get as much of his contract paid out as he can, and just move on.

The only thing I'm starting to wonder is maybe Incognito got treatment in the last year or so and that's why so many Dolphin players seem to be coming to his aid when others in his past think he's the antichrist or something?

In Florida, if he can prove it was a hostile work environment, he can get up to 3x's his salary in damages. Set for life.

Not according to the statement put out by his lawyer, although, not professing this would effect any settlement, if it comes to that.

Why Incognito's Teammates are Circling the Wagons

Put yourself in their position:

You earn your living playing for a professional organization, and it's in the best interests of your employer (& therefore you) to "avoid at all costs having your locker room become divided.

There's still stuff we don't know about the Dolphin culture and precisely what did or didn't go down, but it sure seems as if the unofficial word was spread to all members of the Dolphin organization to "present a united front."

Can't blame them/but don't have to totally believe them either

Was looking through Martin's tweets, just to see if there was anything crazy but it's all just normal NFL tweety stuff. On martin's twitter though, it looks like he took a pic with some fan somewhere on some night in mid September, oh, and there's someone else in the picture too. :D

Statement from Jonathan Martin's Lawyer Is Just First Glimpse into Pandora's Box

Very telling article;

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1842090-statement-from-jonathan-martins-lawyer-is-just-first-glimpse-into-pandoras-box?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=nfl

Statement from Jonathan Martin's Lawyer Is Just First Glimpse into Pandora's Box

This latest development takes the case in an entirely different direction. It shows that things in the Miami locker room might have been worse than we ever imagined.

"Jonathan endured harassment that went far beyond the traditional locker room hazing," Cornwell said in the statement released late Thursday night.

"For the entire season-and-a-half that he was with the Dolphins, he attempted to befriend the same teammates who subjected him to the abuse with the hope that doing so would end the harassment. This is a textbook reaction of victims of bullying. Despite these efforts, the taunting continued. Beyond the well-publicized voice mail with its racial epithet, Jonathan endured a malicious physical attack on him by a teammate, and daily vulgar comments such as the quote at the bottom. These facts are not in dispute."

This is that quote, allegedly directed at Martin by a Miami teammate, from the bottom of the statement:
"We are going to run train on your sister...She loves me. I am going to f*** her without a condom and c** in her c***." (The quote as it appeared in the statement spelled out the first of the obscenities.)

Thus, Martin alleges that a Dolphins player threatened to be part of a gang rape of his sister.

Let that marinate for a bit.

The reasons I can see for current Miami players siding with Incognito;

1. Job security
2. They are part of the problem which is a flawed culture that is the NFL locker room.

Why would Martin spend his VERY RECENT free time in New Orleans with the biggest bully bigot in the NFL?

The more I think about it, the more I think that THESMEL is the ASFN version of Jon Martin.

really crazy article from the LA Times I read today. man...some of the stuff these guys do is beyond ridiculous. "The Gauntlet" is just terrifying, especially the story with the guy who collected pennies from all his teammates so he could put it in a sock and whack whoever's running down the hall with it.

http://www.latimes.com/sports/football/nfl/la-sp-farmer-cleeland-incognito-20131108,0,1127922.column

Sounds like the Tailhook scandal. They had the same "run down the hall" routine. IIRC that was the first bit of hazing exposed when the story broke. It turned out to be the tip of a really ugly iceberg.

FOX SPORTS 1 is going to have Incognito's first sit down interview on within the next hour. Should be interesting.

It was.

I can't help but recall our stepping in to prevent our 5-year old son Stuart from ripping off the ear of his younger brother during a rough-house session.

"He likes it, ma" was Stu's reply.

Likes it. Yeah. Really.

What's funny is Scheffy hasn't found anything new, even though even I found the pics with Incog and Martin chilling out on their free time recently. Not in a meeting either. I think they are both in some kind of fault, but that story should unfold really quickly. FOX Sports (damn I hate FOX NEWS :D) was taking ninja shots at ESPN saying some outlets of the media just go off the first report and than bury a guy. It's now turning into a who was right between those two media giants. I wonder if one will do a celebration dance.
