I must say that after losing out on Adrian Peterson last year, I had an irrational desire for a running back in this years draft. I even bought a bottle of champagne to celebrate Jonathan Stewart or Rashard Mendenhall. But I had forgotten how painful it is to get burned repeatedly in the secondary. Heck, we don't even have to go further than last year to feel the pain of beating a team for 3 quarters and losing because of the lack of a shutdown corner. But after hearing what teammates say about DRC, watching and re-watching the senior bowl, hearing what this young man (who was obviously raised right)has to say, and watching his ability on Thursday (speed, desire and willingness to hit). I now want to shout from the mountains: DRC, you were the right choice.

I no longer have any qualms about our draft as a whole (although our 6th rounder won't make the final cut).

Hold off a little? This is premature. Nique has yet to break up a single pass or make an interception in an NFL game.

Right choice if your goal was to fill the jersey nameplate with the most letters. :)

Let's wait until week three to see how DRC does against the 1st teams.

I was happy with the draft and agreed with Skkorp. No need to draft a RB on the first day IIRC.

Our defense is still suspect though, the reason we didn't make the playoffs last year.

I was on his bandwagon after I switched from Cason about a month before the draft. Still am. There will be times where DRC will show flashes, and there will be times where we want to choke him. He appears to gamble in coverage.

Don't write off Chris Harrington just yet either. He's going through a tough position change that normally takes at least a season so let's not put any grade on his draft stock until next season. On another team that didn't have so many OLB's he might make the team as a special teams player but I think he'll be a player in the future.

I am not crowning anyone yet. I like the pick, but agree that he will do his share of driving us nuts this year.

Exactly! Let's see how the other CB's drafted after DRC do, how Rashard Mendenhall does, how Eric Green and Rod Hood do, and how the Bread Truck does.

After one preseason game? I dont think I'll join just yet.. Neither this or Hightower .. Imma need more than one preseason game to crown them legit just yet..

But the potential is there..

Now is not the time to "crown." But it is appropriate to watch closely to see how each of these guys is tracking.

So far:

- I've seen DRC clobber the NO TE (Campbell).

- I've heard DRC respond to interview questions with a humble Yessir, Nossir.

- I've heard others write and talk about DRC picks and break-ups during drills.

- He admits that he occasionally gets confused back there, but will typically "annoy the safety" with questions about where he should line up or which coverage to play and - if he messes up the play - will ask afterwards how to fix it, fix it and then move on.

Those are good signs for this rookie.

I was hoping to trade our first two picks for two late round 1sts and be able to get Chris Johnson and Antoine Cason. If we were to go by production in one preseason game, then that would have been a much better move by the team.

So what the hell does BIM stand for anyway? For the longest time I thought it stood for Brian in Mesa. Silly me.
That is what it stands for. Brian In Mesa was always correcting when people misspelled, so BIM became synonymous with a spelling correction, i.e. - you are being BIM'd if someone corrects your spelling.

Given what took place to DRC today I vote you don't start another thread until...let's say February.:bang:
