On paper, we should win. But...

Football is all about probablities and possibilities/not definites.

Football is about definites - you should have a definite plan of action and definetly execute it. If you have a probable game plan and possible execution, you will lose - now that is a definite.

Cards 27-20 (Fitz, Edge and Pope score - Rackers 2 FG, 100 yds for the big three)

It's time to get ready for the every Sunday trip to the "Down Under Pub and Grub" in Frisco, TX to watch the Cards start the season off on a winning fashion.

Cards - 27
9ers - 3

My wife's sister lives in Flower Mound right around the corner from Marcus High School. We're up there all the time.

If you go by SI fantasy plus

James 1 rushing TD

Warner 3 Passing TD's (1 Fitz 2 Boldin)

Gives you 28 points already!!!

Of course they also have the game listed as "at SF" :)

I work a mile from the Cards facility & drive past a few times a night as late as 11pm. The coachs vehicles have been in the lot late all week, kind of reassuring.

San Francisco (+7½) at Arizona

You may have heard the Cardinals moved into new digs. I always had a soft spot for Sun Devil Stadium — but then again, I never had season tickets. So, thus begins a season of promise for Dennis Green’s squad. The 49ers are weak, the Rams are down, and the Seahawks … well, the Seahawks are really good. So second place would be OK, so long as it led to the wild card. But first things first. The Niners come to town for the first regular-season game at Cardinals Stadium. There was a bit of a hubbub this week when it was reported that the Cardinals had been allowed to select San Francisco as their opening opponent. Both clubs tried to shoot down the rumor, but I’ll guess 49ers head coach Mike Nolan will be making reference to the story when he’s making his pregame talk to his young squad. The Niners are just young enough to be motivated by such a thing … and just improved enough to be dangerous. The Cards won both meetings between the teams a season ago, but they haven’t been this big a pointspread favorite since Week 14 of the 2004 season. The opponent? Yes, San Francisco, which scored a 31-28 OT win. I’m not calling for a Niners straight-up win, but they will keep it closer than expected.

Wilkening’s pick: San Francisco

his pick is with the spread

Cardinals 24 - 17, for all the talk of how bad the Niners are, they are still an NFL team.

Lets see if all of those special teams pickups make a difference.
I believe they will.
What we lack in the running game will be made up by ST field position.
Red zone starts and the Pope will spell doom for the bay boys.

I'm so nervous about this game, I can't even visualize the rest of the season after it. I haven't wanted a win so badly since we were in the playoffs.

No prediction from me.

History tends to repeat itself so history says we won't do anything easy. I'll say 27-20 with the 49ers running out of time in Deep in Cards territory.

Hey, I'm pretty proud of this prediction!!!
