yes its true--

interesting in that Levi got next to nothing in the fan voting -- so he is there on the strength of player and coach voting.

perfect timing in that this is a day after I start a thread saying Levi isnt a tackle.

Go figure, and only proves that the average fan (me as an example) cannot evaluate line play.

You can be sure that there will be some who'll say that Levi's fellow player's and coaches don't know what they're talking about. ;)

Upon hearing the news he was a pro bowl alternate, Levi Brown shot out of his stance before any of his teammates could react.

It's a secret plot by the rest of the NFL trying to get us to sign him to an extension.

i think some people are too lazy to change their opinions on Levi Brown by watching him MAWL LBers on big run plays and his better pass protection lately.

Obviously the player and coaches, the men whose careers are on the line every week, think Levi Brown is worthy of the recognition. I will take their opinion any day over that of fans.

Levi was obviously voted in by the AFC defensive lineman, looking to have a great game.

Ok after thinking it over for a minute, Levi should be in the pro bowl!

That's right. The stadium in Miami needs new turn styles, he should thrive in that capacity

I knew it was only a matter of time before the clydesdale of the Levi Hater bandwagon to weigh in on the matter haha

Justified hate bro. You know I don't like the guy. A guy who barely belongs in the league does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath with the Pro Bowl.

I can't tell if it was the excessive penalties or the numerous times he was parallel to the sideline. There are 32 starting tackles in the NFC and I would probably take 28 of them over Levi any day of the week, and twice on Sundays

Your just being ignorant with the "barely belongs in the league" comment! Levi even with his lapses is VERY talented and many times and in many games has shown that talent! He's just playing out of position. Even at RT he is obviously well respected by the DE's who have to line up against him every Sunday! You may not like it but it's an obvious fact!

If that's the case, find a position for him. Unfortunately, you cant put him anywhere else besides guard and the $64 question is "is he better than Wells or Lutui?" Im not so sure. And I don't think he'd succeed at LT. Imagining him on Kurt's blindside gives me nightmares. He has been underwhelming his entire career with Arizona.

Chastise my comment about him being in the league all you want, but the guy is the weakest link on the line IMO. Penalties, mental lapses and half assed effort does not win brownie points in my book. I read Sando's blog about penalties all the time and he seems to always be in the conversation.

One thing I think we can all agree on is that he is not pro bowl material, and when I saw this, I thought it was April Fools day.

Kurt Warner was always on that list last year, as was Adrian Wilson. Should they be handed walking papers too?

Every player makes mistakes. At least athletes like Kurt and AW have the mental toughness to rebound and make great plays to compensate.

Levi follows up a mistake with another mistake and another, and so on and so forth. He does not have the mental make up to shake off boneheaded moves and put together a good game.

I guess they must not have asked Kurt his opinion about Levi being in the Pro Bowl. :p

You know, I've come around a bit on Levi lately. Why? Watch a lot of other tackles try to pass block the better rushers one-on-one, and you'll see a lot of the same. When you put a tackle on an island, he will often look bad.

He's doing a lot better and I love his line blocking. I hope to keep watching him improve.

it's my opinion that most fans don't know what they are talking about when evaluating offensive linemen play.I think it's easy to spot a really good,or really bad, lineman but the it's hard to judge the other 95%.The fans have no idea what the line calls or assignments are on a particular play.Instead they focus on the 1 or 2 times a guy lets off a sack,or pressure, and base their opinion on that. Even last week Whiz said he thought right after the game that the OL played poorly but, after watching the tape, he changed his mind and said they played well, even Bridges, who i thought stunk it up. I don't think there are too many of us who have access to the coaching tapes so i'll leave my opinion to the players and coaches when making OL judgements.

an example: a couple years ago i continually blasted Reggie Wells as being horrible and one of the worst OL. Well that off season the coaching staff came out and said Wells was their best and most consitent lineman the previous year.

Why do you insist on making ignorant comments when it comes to Levi? You say he can't put together a good game yet he has had many good games! Especially the 4 game stretch in the playoffs last year where he was stellar! You act as though you have never seen a cards game with comments like that.

Reference your earlier comment where could you put him? I would say anywhere but center. There is no doubt in my mind he is more physically gifted than Wells, Lutui and Gandy. Not to mention the left side is his natural position!

Having him protect Kurts blind side would be no worse than Gandy IMO and likely better being his natural position that he dominated at Penn State.

Btw Nice post cbus!
