The completion % issue is too over-blown, imo.

Look at Tom Brady's stats at Michigan (surrounded by much more talent than at Wyoming): 4,773 yards, 61.9%, 7.5 yap, 30-17 TD/int, 134.9 QBR.

Josh Allen: 5,066, 56.2%, 7.8 ypa, 44-21 TD/int., 137.7 QBR.

Did you know that in 3 of Brady's first 6 years in the NFL his completion % was 60.2%, 61.8%, and 60.8%? Accuracy can be improved.

You’re talking a difference of 10% in completion percentage in college. That’s not comparable. Especially when you undermine your argument that Brady’s % stayed much the same or dipped for hisnforst three years. That could be disastrous for a rookie QB whose % is in the mid-50s.

There is no comparison with regard to which college QB was surrounded by NFL caliber talent. Michigan versus Wyoming.

Why then is Josh Allen the #1 QB on Mel Kiper's board and the #2 QB on Mike Mayock's? Both of them think the completion % issues Allen had at Wyoming (being surrounded by mediocre talent) will improve in the NFL. Is it that much of a stretch to believe that a 21 year old QB so physically gifted and coachable can grow into a dynamic pro?

Darnold, Rosen, and Mayfield are the only QBs in the draft I'm sold on. Lamar will need development and I'm not convinced Allen is actually very good.

If they do go for Foles it should'nt be for the #15 pick.

But Philly might hold the Cardinals hostage if we don't sign a FA. Unlikely they'll accept the 2nd rounder. Maybe two of them.

Washington gave up a 2nd for an older QB.

Nfl live just had a discussion, one said trade our world to move up to 5-6 - one said AJ Mccaron - Bill Polian said nobody has a clue yet, but he would expect a veteran QB. Possibly Mccaron - but warned that a veteran would want cash and a promise not to draft his replacement. but we don’t even have the combine scores yet to make a decision if a rookie could be better than Mccaron -

I think there is a lot of experienced FA or available talent and we are blessed - but i would rather trade #15 for SBMVP Foles than trade this and next years draft for a rookie. Don’t see a generational QB in there.

Like I said sign Gabbert now, may stil have franchise upside in the right system, should not intimidate veterans available from signing with cards- pursue foles, cousins, Bradford, Bridgewater, Mccaron, Brock

I watched the show too...and it just reenforced what a precarious spot the Cardinals are in this year drafting at #15 and being considered less of an attraction for UFAs than other teams.

Louis Riddick talked about the Cardinals moving up to the top 6---but then Bill Polian reminded Riddick that the Cardinals have to get younger and to trade up to the top six will require two years of high draft picks.

Which is why the two most frequently mentioned UFAs in relation to the Cardinals are now A.J. McCarron and Sam Bradford---and Polian added that those guys will want a financial commitment and an assurance from the Cardinals that they won't draft a QB in the 1st round. In other words, those guys feel they should not be considered bridge QBs.

The ESPN crew basically felt that:

Minnesota will tag Case Keenum and hope they win their appeal on Teddy Bridgewater (that his FA should be delayed a year because of time lost).

Cleveland will have a hard time getting any of the UFA QBs especially since they will be drafting Sam Darold with the #1 pick.

The Broncos will likely sign Kirk Cousins, although there was sentiment that the Broncos want to take Baker Mayfield at #5.

David Carr of NFLN just put out his top 10 QB options for 2018---and it's an interesting read. One sleeper choice of his is Chase Daniel whom Carr think could be this year's Case Keenum and he wouldn't cost his new team much in the way of salary. Having read that and having always been intrigued with Daniel, I am kind of curious about the idea of Chase Daniel as a bridge to the best QB they can draft in this year's class.

The problem is---the Cardinals don't want to make a financial commitment to a QB they aren't 100% sure of---and in free agency---they don't get the chance to meet and greet the way MB&SK like to---the QBs are going to go fast and furiously. The Cardinals have to be fully prepared to make their move and be fully committed to it.

When Daniel was with the Chiefs, he looked really sharp at times during the preseason. Like, challenge Alex Smith sharp. But when he got extended opportunities his limitations quickly surfaced. There's a reason Keenum is such a story. Big heart, smart QB's without physical talent rarely make decent starters. Otherwise, guys like Sean Payton, Sean McVay, Jon Gruden, etc. would have been players and not coaches.
