Maybe the suns are going to put Clark on the roster and play him..........he should be ready to come back?

This just a poor trade. This trade saved the C's 6mil in cap, but saved 12mil in cash. in 2003 and 6-8 mil for the picks. I just think the Suns better get a star with the space.

We now have 2 roster spots open with Lampe on the IR. McDyess will fill one of them.

I was already taken into account that McDyess was re-activated...

When was Clark slated to return back anyways?

There is no timetable for his return apparently.

Here's another strange thing...

ESPN's original article about the trade had the 2 first rounders on it, but apparently they've edited it and taken out any mention of first rounders...

I agree.

This is a pretty steep price to get under the luxary tax. :(
If they traded both picks they received in the Steph/Penny trade just to get rid of Googs a few months early it puts a damper on the deal with NY.

I understand it saves them from paying the luxary tax but how does it give them more cap space this summer?

Don't all the players involved have expiring contracts.

I don't see how this helps us in FA this summer.

KDUS reported that Clark is slated to return back later this month....

I wonder if they'll sign a player to 10-day contract to fill that vacated spot in the meantime.....

What for? What player eligible for a 10-day out there could contribute more than Lampe?

Gee, I don't know. Wouldn't that set the Colangelos back about $40,000 or so? That's awfully steep for such a budget-conscious organization.

Oh.... I'm just trying to figure out how they'll occupy that roster spot.... I cant figure out why Lampe was placed on the IR in the first place..... Nothing really adds up whatsoever....

Dear Everyeffort.net,

I never really liked P. Diddy's music, but he is reportedly worth more than $150 million, and I figure if that is true, he could be a prime candidate to buy the Phoenix Suns. Shaquille O'neal could buy it too, because even if he would try to make the Suns really bad to avoid competition for his Lakers, he probably isn't smart enough to drive this franchise into the toilet as fast as the current majority owner. Also, it would give the Suns a better chance at getting Kobe, because he's not going to leave the Lakers anyway, and not to go to the Suns and be the sixth man behind Joe Johnson. Oh and one last thing, is there any way you guys could put out another commercial where Jerry Colangelo is getting his hair done up like Coolio? Because that one commercial really changed my opinion about him. It erased my memory of him and the fact that for the last 30 years he's been going to every single Suns game (unless the DBacks are playing) and pouting in the stands, not smiling once for 48 minutes, and I now understand that he truly is a likeable, down-to-Earth guy. That was a really telling 6 second clip of him.

I was under the impression that past a certain date in january, you can no longer sign 10 day contracts? Don't you have to sign them for the rest of the year now?

(Is Dermarr Johnson still signed?)

No, the Knicks just signed DerMarr for the rest of the season and he had a game breaking block in crunch time against the Pistons.

You know we can't afford former top4 picks who had a severe injury when they were ready to breakout and have now recovered for the league minimum.

Good point.... So...essentially....They'll have "Dice" (who can only average 10-15 mins a game), Harvey (whos been in D'Antoni's doghouse), White (who immediately gets 3 fouls), so their bench will be beyond thin.....

I just cant figure out the logical (if any applies to the Suns now) of putting Lampe on the IR....This is the ideal time to really hone his game.... It doesnt make sense.....

LOL, might you be describing Jay Williams instead? The Suns could claim him off waivers now if they wanted to....

Except that the Bulls basically gave him 3M$ with no need and he is loyal to the Bulls and will return to the Bulls most likely if he can play again.
