Nothing really about 8-8 to be negative about. Backups galore yet still finished middle of the pack. 3-13 is negative

Sigh... I.T wasn’t about being negative. I.T was about reading the tea leaves and believing we were going to be mediocre last season... being called negative then... and ending up...

Nevermind. You’re right. We should all be doing cartwheels over The approach the team has taken the last two offseasons.

You also can see since 2016 that Bradford is the leader and controls the field. He was a top 6 QB that year. Can I see him coming in and this being the second half of his career leading us just like Carson? Of course I could....look how he started 2017 before the injury by dismantling the saints for 4 qtrs. Take the negativity and put it away ....Be positive and look at the good things he brings to the table and root for your team!

You may enjoy eating sand, but that ain’t my bag.

I've never understood why the Cardinals can't develop a system for a QB and draft a QB that fits it.
Like all teams do? C'mon ....systems are always changing you know this. We are going from biscuit ball to smart run powered offense. Bradford is expected to have the ball gone in 3 to 5 seconds. Lol system ball

I don't see why we needed to clear the cap room unless we're working on a trade for a well paid player. There aren't any FA worth spending decent money on and we had room for draft picks already. I'd rather have Veldheer as a backup swing tackle than free cap space that won't get used.

That's the Cardinals system. Fling that ball quickly before one gets crushed.

Nick Foles is considered to be a system QB. Well, I'd like to have a backup QB take us to the SB.

Someone mention using the money to sign Johnson to an extension but next year ARZ has even more cap space so we don't need to extend Johnson yet. The bad thing is if you were going to trade Veldheer maybe they should have grabbed Fleming as a third OT for depth or to compete with Smith at RT (he is signing with DAL now). DRC would be the only other big FA left who could help next year, I say bring him back.

Extending Johnson now would be the dumbest thing ever. No wait! The second dumbest thing ever just behind extending Money Badger after the 2nd ACL tear. If our GM is that stupid, then we are sunk.

I love how his board went from most people wanting to cut veldheer for cap space to most people seemingly upset we only got a sixth rounder for him.

Y’all are an entertaining bunch.

Is now the right time to say we should use that money to sign Dez Bryant ? Will that make you all do the funny post thing some more?

I believe they were saying this when we need the cap space. Now, we definitely didn' n to unload him for more room, as we had decent space before this trade.

He killed it in his pro day and had a really good combine. This "system " qb will go 1st round and likely be the best qb in this class. Just my opinion.

No QB from that system has ever had any kind of long term sustained success in the NFL and there is a reason for that. Listen if he's great then more power to him but people have the right to question those type of QBs

I agree. I expected they would sign Bradford. when the guy is on the field he can play... we just have to keep him clean.
he has a pretty quick release so I expect to see a variation of the WC offense in which he rarely throws more than 7-10 yds down field with lots of quick 3-5 yards passes designed to get YAC. any deep passes will probable be generated through play action.

I dont have high hopes for the success of it in the long run but Bradfords ability is not an issue... just his availability

Exactly. Using up this year’s cap on Johnson just means what I think this offseason has been... giving the appearance of “competing” but really punting on the season.

Just like last year.

a smart GM might wait and see if DJ's wrist is going to allow him to be the RB he was... wrists are somewhat important for a RB in avoiding fumbles...

unless the plan is to get him to sign a cheap deal due to the injury?? otherwise we should let him play through this season before we even consider an extension...one might even argue it makes the most sense to let him play out the rookie deal, tag him a season or two, then let him walk.

In Bradford’s gangbusters season of 2016 he threw for 3700 yards... 5 picks... and 20 TDs... and a 7-8 record. Yeah... his completion percentage was high because he took zero risk... just like he’s done the entirety of his career.

That’s Matt Cassel numbers. In other words, nothing to get excited about.

And just to head off the completion percentage argument, it was high because he took zero risk... just like he’s done the entirety of his career.

and thats exactly what McCoy is gonna do with him here. WC offense, lots of five yard slants and crosses...outlets to the RB, etc... Bradfords biggest strengths are his quick release and his short pass accuracy.... I imagine they will try and build an offense around that

And when has McCoy’s offense ever been successful doing that?

Sure as hell didn’t with Denver or SD without Wiz who didn’t run that type of O with Rivers. They did when Wiz left but the O fell off a cliff when McCoy started running himself.

Just playing devils advocate here, but might be a good idea to sign him before LeVean Bell. If DJ has a healthy season and Bell resets RB market, we're screwed. Top RB contracts right now very low compared to what it will be coming up
