Is it just me, or do the DBacks look dejected and depressed. Even Baerga looks kinda sad. Gonzo has a blank stare expression.

This has GOT to change if the DBacks are goning to win more games.

I am a big fan and I always feel they are going to do it but it is so frustrating watching this team. They are down 5-1 and they knew a win would mean they gain a game on the Marlins. They are showing no emotion. Why did Capuano start and also Counsell?

Capuano has no fastball and he has no movement on it. I doubt he will be in their plans for next year. Patterson pitched well tonight. Maybe he worked out his problems in Tucson. 6-1 going to the 9th. I still believe but they need to roll off some wins. I wonder why they did not bring up any bats from the minors?

Felix Jose just hit a 2-run homer in the 9th to make it 6-3. Brenly better play this guy every game because it looks like he has some power that this team is lacking.

It's already 4-0 Padres in the 2nd inning. The way the D'Backs offense is playing, that's more than enough runs for the Padres. With Philly winning 8-3 in the 9th, we'll fall another game back. I think we can stick a fork in the D'Backs. They're done..

Wow. Padres putting the hurt on the boys. Jeez, just when you think things couldn't get worse.

Not only the Padres, but the entire NL West.

AZ is:

6-7 vs Colorado
6-6 vs LA
9-9 vs SD*
3-13 vs San Fran

Total record versus NL west so far this year: 24-35.

*Not including today's game.

Is Brenly's job in danger?

I would say no. He has had alot of success as manager up to this season. I mean who knows what may have happened with a healthy Curt and Randy... I think if I am the hitting coach I would go to COMPUSA and get some resume writing software. It would be a good investment

This is a critical stretch from here until seasons end. If the team packs it in and tanks it, Brenly is gone. If they keep fighting he should keep his job one more year for sure.

Judging by today's fiasco, they're tanking it and already thinking about their off-season vacation plans.

all I can say after today's game is THANK GOD IT'S FOOTBALL SEASON - oh wait - I'm a Cardinals fan - damnit! BWell bring it on anyway- this team has gone right into the toilet and my favorite sport is about to start - thanks for an interesting year fellas - not what I hoped - but after the disasterous start we had - at least you made the rest of the summer interesteing - huge offseason for this club - does Jerry try to go for one more run - get another big bat in here (I mean if you look at the Mondesi trade - yeah it didn't do what we had hoped it would but it's everyone's fault around him - oh, was that another strikeout by Shea?) Regardless - it was talking to you guys this season and just remember this - Jerry doesn't like losing - I have faith in this team for the future and it's nice to see we do have a good deal of young talent - so so long - see you guys in March.

There are 4 types of teams

1) Good teams that have lots of talent and contend.

2) Bad teams that have no talent and never contend.
examples: the Clippers and the Cardinals.

3) Teams that are improving and are on their way up.

4) Teams that have run their course and are crashing back to earth.

The Dbacks are now officially a 4.

Hey Cheese, you'll be back. This team has a run in it.:)

As you can see I'm an optimist.
