Should the Suns sign Iguodala or JR Smith?

Food for thought..

Either of them would probably knock us straight out of the Wiggins race & I don't see much gain in signing either of them. What do you guys think?

I guess I could be talked into Iguodala for something below the max, but I don't see the point. A thousand times No for Smith.

Purely for the fact that JR Smith would probably kill 5 or 6 Phoenicians in DUI accidents... I think we should pass on him.

i'd be happy with AI if we weren't in rebuilding mode, coming from dead last in the west.

I think that the Suns really need to continue rebuilding properly. Signing mediocre vets is not the way to go. No Smith, Iggy, Evans, Ellis, etc. It is fine to be really bad next year. If there are some youngsters out there that may have some upside, I am ok signing them, but please don't sign mediocre vets.

i will die laughing if we choke our cap with Iggy.

I can see the Suns doing it (or something similar) if only because they are short-sighted to the point of being imbecilic. All the foregoing opinions are correct: something like this would completely cement the franchise in ongoing mediocrity for the next five years, at least.

Iggy is a jack-of-all trades player. I'd take him in a heartbeat (I don't think he's getting max money on the open market).

JR can kick rocks. Him combined with Beasley would destroy the locker room.

Hello no. I don't really dislike Iggy. I just think he's going to get overpaid.

JR Smith? :vomit:

Who will be completely worthless and overpaid before the Suns are relevant again.

My only hope is that this FO is smart enough to not take on any big contracts this offseason.

It's crazy that anyone could even consider this a good idea.

No. Anyways, Iggy is either staying in Denver (not too likely) or going to NOLA with Jrue.

The only contracts I want to see us take on are those that bring assets with them (draft picks, undeveloped players). I'm hoping we will keep some salary space available to fill the facilitator role for all those trades that need a 3rd party to make them work.

The Suns are in rebuild mode. They need to look toward acquiring assets like young players or draft choices. No big contracts. The Suns dodged a bullet with Eric Gordon. Let's hope they learned.

What would be the point of signing Igoudala? He's good but not for a rebuilding team.

And Jr Smith? I hope your joking. I wouldn't spent a dollar on him.

I'm going to really question this new GM if it's even verified that we made an offer to JR Smith. Talk about the opposite kind of player you want to sign to a young, rebuilding team.

I've always liked Iguodala, but I just don't see the point. Furthermore I see no reason he would want to come here.

I recall reading somewhere it was bogus.
