Not to throw fuel on the fire but...

Bertrand Berry at the Big Red Rage "We lost because of turnovers and field position"

Don't turn the ball over and they win.

If Kurt is calling the plays from the LOS and not Haley, I agree. If Kurt is just being a good soldier then I think Haley is at fault. The team becomes one dimentional and forces Kurt to make a play on every snap

Whiz said this week that Kurt calls the plays about 25% of the time, or at least has the option.

We're gonna win the West this season... If you don't think Kurt is the biggest reason why, having a MVP year with the WORST running attack in the NFL, think again...

How anyone can pick on Warner after a loss to the best team in the NFL, where Manning lit us up, Ware played like he was being paid off by the Giants, and we ran the ball 11 times (or whatever...), is beyond me...

Incredible... :bang:

My sentiments exactly. Perfectly said. I find these reactions astonishing...some don't even want the Cards---who haven't won a title since 1975 or hosted a playoff game since 1940---to drink champagne, smoke cigars and don NFC West Champion shirts and hats. Unreal.

To me...to see Kurt Warner (for what he's been through and how far he's come)...to see Anquan Boldin (how about what he's been through and what he's done?)...and all the players and fans revel in this exceptional achievment...

And I want to see Mr. B get doused, want to watch champagne drip from his soggy bow tie...and see his hair all mushed up by Adrian Wilson, a la Jimmy Johnson...that vision will be a dream come true for them, for me and so many of us.

Does anyone really know hard and extremely difficult it is to overcome the perennial loser's stigma? Y'know, the one we fans have suffered through all these years...

To quote Prince..."I am going to party like it's..."

Well, 2008!

The sweet thing is if it's Thursday night, we will get to see a lot of it on NFL Network as they cover their Thursday night games like a blanket. Heck they might even have someone in the locker room. Sweeeeeeet!

Especially nice for the players who have been onboard for awhile like Reggie Wells, Adrian Wilson, and Anquan Boldin.

you're talking about a Super Bowl victory-like celebration... in week 12 of the season. The only thing a celebration like that will do IMO is further promote the loser's stigma this franchise has had.

go nuts for the really important things - conference titles, super bowls. Everything else is just a stepping stone.

Wow this is a surprising thread. I think we need to cut Kurt a little slack for the INT...Hold on before you all pile on..it was a bad throw but jeez everyone makes mistakes sometimes...especially when you throw on nearly every play..
The fumble was worse I always cringe when Kurt fake pumps the ball its a sure sign he's going to hold it too long and bad things nearly always happen when he does that. I wish he would have just thrown it away.
But lets not forget if we takeaway the two kick returns we win even with Kurts turnovers..Kurts playing hard for us you just can't expect him to never turn the ball over, there isn't a QB in the league that throws as much and doesn't turn the ball over.
I would just like to see us stick with the run a bit more and have Kurt under center more.

There's NOT a QB in the league...

that you can't pick apart. McNabb was right the other nite when he said QB's have "streaks", too. Good & Bad! You put the ball up 50+ times and you're asking for a couple of turn-overs. ...And maybe I'm over simplifying BUT you score (30) points a game and you should WIN. Period! Now, the Play-Offs are a completely different animal. There DEFENSES rule! I don't think, and I hope I'm wrong, our "D" is strong enough to go deep in the play-offs. I would love to be proven wrong. So, that means our Offense is going to have to do the job. Just my opinion. GO CARDS!

If you score 30 points you should win, provided your QB didn't gift wrap 14 points for the other team.

Let me explain. I';ve read, listened, got it all from K.W.. I've already said,"I'm behind him" in another thread. But, I cannot, excuse HIS excusing his poor pereformance, in the last game. YES, we'll win the west tomorrow night. But, if you read his rap in the Rep., He just seems too nonchalant about the loss. AND, INMO, for a player of his caliber, you can't just blow off, YOUR mistakes. AND, I did not just put it on him.
Yea, I've been around here awhile. Don't ex-pect any special consideration. But, if any of you want to argue, that he was totally confused, and if not for great plays by his receivers, would have totally sucked. LOOK at it again.
He held the ball too long, didn't tuck, didn't throw away, fumbled, floated an interception.
I'm not saying I don't appreciate what he's doing, with a great cast, I'm saying; I'm tired of him not ponying up.l
NOW, do you get me?

Kurt is polarizing. Sure I am glad he has had me eat crow and is playing as well as he is. And its a testament to him and lets ride it out and see where we end up.

But his penchent for T.O.'s, being a statue in the pocket, and percived holier then thou attitude is going to rub some the wrong way.

Hopefuly that clarifies its for some people. You can't please everybody and while I am happy with how our season is going - I'll never be a Kurt guy.

And that doesn't make me a bad person:)

It's ok Chris. I don't come here much anymore, or didn't for awhile. You don't have to defend or protect me. But, thank you, for the respect.

I am a Kurt guy. I think he is great and is having a great year.

However, I think he had a bad game last week. He will bounce back tomorrow though.

I agree with Bertrand Field position and turnovers! Kurt has one more than he has lost and has us in first place. Enough said. AS for the celerbration..I like what Larry does after the great catch for the touchdown. He hands the ball to the ref, just as if he has been there many times before. But knowing there is more to do. The team must know that winning the division is very special, but not what we are all looking foward to.

Cardinals and super bowl in the same sentence because we are there.

Bertrand is right but...

At some point this Defense needs to suck it up and show some pride by making key stops. Yes we have made some stops this year but more often than not, when the offense turns the ball over, the D gets steamrolled.

Turnovers happen, big kick returns happen, you want to LIMIT them, but you're never going get rid of them all together.

The key is the Defense coming up with some stops in those situations.

I'm sorry but right now we're not getting it done. It seems like if we turn it over, it's an automatic 6 for the other team.

Wow, Fresno's the armpit of California? That only leaves one body part that's worse for Bakersfield and I didn't think the armpit could be anatomically that close. :)

I don't think there's generally any one reason a team loses. A play here, a play there and you can argue both sides of the story. Warner, IMO, dealt with being beaten very well. He was off his game somewhat but the ridiculously short amount of time he had to throw the ball for much of the game had a lot to do with it. The predictability of the offense also played a part. The quality of the defense did too.

So, to me, it's understandable that Warner may have waited too long on a couple of plays that he actually had time to wait for something to open up down field. This isn't excusing his mistakes but I do think that some don't appreciate what he had to look at in the Giants game. Not having any hint of a running game, ergo no play action, 7 & 8 man backfields, no max protect sets, just adequate enough pass protection and taking a literal beating...by choice is a hard way to play QB in the NFL.

Yes, he got stripped while looking down field and he made a bad read on the interception. But he also had two dropped TD's. I mean, that's what we're doing here. Nitpicking 2 particular plays. Let everything else stand and let those plays go in Warner's favor. He did everything he was supposed to on those plays didn't he? 400+ yards and 3 TD's sounds a lot different than what wound up happening doesn't it?

And, if you want to look at the numbers, his 1.8% INT rate is one of the lowest in the league and is what 1 interception in 52 attempts works out to be. On average, he has fumbled once every 49 attempts this year. Vs. NY it was once in 52.

I agree that he will have to step up his production down the stretch but I don't think his efforts vs. the Giants deserve such ire.

sure, you can throw in those "dropped TD passes" even though one of them was knocked out of Fitz's hand on a great play by the DB, but you also fail to mention that one of his TDs was a tipped pass/broken play that Boldin stole out of the air and then bowled over a couple guys to score and that G-Men dropped at least two other picks. Playing the what-if game only counts if you count the positive and negative what-ifs and in the course of a game, they usually balance out. Your stats are usually indicative of how you've played.
