If Kurt is calling the plays from the LOS and not Haley, I agree. If Kurt is just being a good soldier then I think Haley is at fault. The team becomes one dimentional and forces Kurt to make a play on every snap
Matt Leinart would do just as good! We're gonna win the West this season... If you don't think Kurt is the biggest reason why, having a MVP year with the WORST running attack in the NFL, think again...
My sentiments exactly. Perfectly said. I find these reactions astonishing...some don't even want the Cards---who haven't won a title since 1975 or hosted a playoff game since 1940---to drink champagne, smoke cigars and don NFC West Champion shirts and hats. Unreal.
To me...to see Kurt Warner (for what he's been through and how far he's come)...to see Anquan Boldin (how about what he's been through and what he's done?)...and all the players and fans revel in this exceptional achievment...
And I want to see Mr. B get doused, want to watch champagne drip from his soggy bow tie...and see his hair all mushed up by Adrian Wilson, a la Jimmy Johnson...that vision will be a dream come true for them, for me and so many of us.
Does anyone really know hard and extremely difficult it is to overcome the perennial loser's stigma? Y'know, the one we fans have suffered through all these years...
To quote Prince..."I am going to party like it's..."
Well, 2008!

just the biggest stepping stone in 20 years.you're talking about a Super Bowl victory-like celebration... in week 12 of the season. The only thing a celebration like that will do IMO is further promote the loser's stigma this franchise has had.
go nuts for the really important things - conference titles, super bowls. Everything else is just a stepping stone.
that you can't pick apart. McNabb was right the other nite when he said QB's have "streaks", too. Good & Bad! You put the ball up 50+ times and you're asking for a couple of turn-overs. ...And maybe I'm over simplifying BUT you score (30) points a game and you should WIN. Period! Now, the Play-Offs are a completely different animal. There DEFENSES rule! I don't think, and I hope I'm wrong, our "D" is strong enough to go deep in the play-offs. I would love to be proven wrong. So, that means our Offense is going to have to do the job. Just my opinion. GO CARDS!
The sweet thing is if it's Thursday night, we will get to see a lot of it on NFL Network as they cover their Thursday night games like a blanket.

How anyone can pick on Warner after a loss to the best team in the NFL, where Manning lit us up, Ware played like he was being paid off by the Giants, and we ran the ball 11 times (or whatever...), is beyond me...
Incredible...
we played the best team in the nfl. give him a break
Yeah.. and I'll be in the arm-pit of California (Fresno) at my in-laws, home of the 19 inch cable-free television.

Wow, Fresno's the armpit of California? That only leaves one body part that's worse for Bakersfield and I didn't think the armpit could be anatomically that close.
I don't think there's generally any one reason a team loses. A play here, a play there and you can argue both sides of the story. Warner, IMO, dealt with being beaten very well. He was off his game somewhat but the ridiculously short amount of time he had to throw the ball for much of the game had a lot to do with it. The predictability of the offense also played a part. The quality of the defense did too.
So, to me, it's understandable that Warner may have waited too long on a couple of plays that he actually had time to wait for something to open up down field. This isn't excusing his mistakes but I do think that some don't appreciate what he had to look at in the Giants game. Not having any hint of a running game, ergo no play action, 7 & 8 man backfields, no max protect sets, just adequate enough pass protection and taking a literal beating...by choice is a hard way to play QB in the NFL.
Yes, he got stripped while looking down field and he made a bad read on the interception. But he also had two dropped TD's. I mean, that's what we're doing here. Nitpicking 2 particular plays. Let everything else stand and let those plays go in Warner's favor. He did everything he was supposed to on those plays didn't he? 400+ yards and 3 TD's sounds a lot different than what wound up happening doesn't it?
