We are missing a QB, I don't see how you see this team as needing to be blown up? Top 10 defense, check. Good skill players, check. QB and the interior offensive line need to be upgraded, but that is it. Then we are winning again.

Chopper, stop with all that common sense!! These people are mad & they want retribution now!! Who cares if we can become a very good team in short order. Everyone's more concerned that we lost to the Jets on the road with our 3rd string QB playing! Damn you Chopper, you're pissing on their parade.

Does 17-27 mean anything to you?

Here's how you fix the team from a coaching standpoint.

Fire Grimm, Miller, and Graves

Promote Horton to Assistant HC and give him a substantial raise (like what the team did for Haley before the 2008 season).

Promote Keim to GM

Hire up-and-coming position coach as OC with a specialty in QB development.

Ok, associate keeping Whiz with common sense. We lost the game today because our coach refused to make a change. No excuse for this.

You guys don't get it. Coaches that lose 8 straight games and lose like we are get fired. Just the way it is. Whiz is done in my opinion.

Hiring a new GM is the most important part, but you act like good people will come here.

They won't, not for a lame duck GM and coach, no way.

It'd be a lot easier to fire the coach and start over, it's just the way it is, having said that, no one will get fired at all because that's the Cardinal way.

Fire Whiz, make Horton interim HC. Keep Horton depending on how it goes the rest of the way. Top 10 defense - Horton. Fitz - Dennis Green. Horrific OL - Whiz/Grimm. Botched QB? - Whiz, no plan for after Kurt left is his fault. Leinart had been with the Cards long enough for him to know he wasn't the future. I was a whiz backer but I can't do it anymore.

Isn't Whiz responsible for us having Grimm and Miller in key coaching positions?

If they go he should go with them.

YOU don't get it! We lost this game because we don't have a legitimate NFL QB. Skelton sucks also!! Your opinion is exactly that, yours. And mine is mine & neither matters a hill of beans.

He is also responsible for having Haley in a key coaching position, and responsible for having Horton in a key coaching position.

He's not completely inept in that department, but having a second set of eyes with a competent GM would help Whiz find component position coaches

If Whiz is going to preach accountability...... Then he himself must be held accountable.

Kolb benched for Skelton
Skelton benched for Lindley
Floyd moving past Byrd, and Early
Potter moving past Batiste
Scho moving past Haggans

Whiz deserves no more sympathy from us.

Wait I don't quite understand this because the last 3 moves you list were the right moves or are you saying you didn't like the timing of it?

Bull**** Chopper

You will NEVER convince me that today Lindley gave us a better chance to win than Skelton.

And, you'll also never convince me that Skelton should have been #1 on the depth chart to start the season!

I saw Skelton miss the same passes against Atlanta. I know Skelton sucks because he has had three years to show he doesn't.

I haven't seen enough to know if Lindley can get better or not. I can't blame the staff for making the smart coaching decision to see if he has a young QB who can improve even though it may be an unpopular decision with the fans.

I agree that if you fire Whis, you scrap the whole thing and start over which will lead to another 4 win season.

I just disagree with that line of thinking and believe we have a talented roster minus a competent QB.

Not sure Keim is a big enough upgrade for the GM spot. We need a proven comodity not a developmental guy and I do think Keim will be good with some experience. We just cant afford to have the guy who has been mentored by Graves as our next GM.

This is a message board where nearly all posts are opinions. What I do get is we have lost 8 straight. This is a fact.

We win this game today if he goes to Skelton at the half. Yes this is my opinion.

Whiz by all accounts has been involved in the QB selection process so he is at least partly responsible for this mess.

He won with Haley and Warner I give him that. That was years ago. Our offense has been a disaster for 3 years now with no end in sight.

Whiz can stay but only if he is open to major changes on the offensive side of the ball.

He won't be open to that.

Options. Promote Horton to head coach. Allow him to hire his replacement and bring in the best offensive coordinator, and QB coach to redesign our entire offense. It should be sculpted around Kolb. Find a compitent back up with similiar skills of Kolb.

What is that? Somewhat accurate and somewhat mobile. Hopefully a bit more durable. Part of our problem is when we go from QB A to QB B it is a total contrats in style.

On top of that invest heavily in the offensive line.

If we followed those options we may not win a division next year but I can just about promise a huge improvement on the offensive side of the ball.

Would be fine with this plan. We lose Horton if Whiz stays. Horton was mentioned again in today's broadcast as being a hot candidate.

I don't disagree with you, per say, but the RB position definitely needs some re-evaluation as well, and we don't have a pass rushing OLB. This team is more than just a QB away. A QB might do enough to make us competitive, but there are plenty of other holes to fill.

BiM: per se

Horton may or may not get an HC job out there, but, it's likely definite we'd lose him if he didn't get the Cards job - if Whiz was canned.

The GM is the issue

I don't know, nor does no one posting on this board know if coaching is the biggest factor in this teams problems.

A good GM would know the answer to that question. A good GM would also know what spots on the roster (aside from QB ) need an upgrade.

The cards don't have a good GM. They have a nice guy who basically executes whatever the current power broker in the organization wants -- be it Whis, Denny, Etc.

I don't know if Keim is the guy-- I prefer Jason Licht as he has spent time with Philly and New England so he has at least seen a few different approaches.

Put a real GM in charge and let him decide what to do with the coach and his staff.

I agree with Chopper: Firing the coach provides only some emotional satisfaction. But when that wears off, you still have Rod Graves picking the new coach and adding to the roster. What makes anyone think things really change at that point?

No, you don't get it. Whisenhunt hand picked his QBs. He oversaw the whole thing. The lack of a legitimate NFL QB on this team for the past 3 years is a direct indictment on Whisenhunt as a player evaluator, as someone who develops players and as a coach. The majority of the problems facing this team come back to the usual suspects, Graves, Whisenhunt, Grimm and company.

Whiz was not Graves preferred candidate and Keim is in charge of football personnel at this point.
