Total domination in the 2nd and 3rd periods. Howard just isn't that good, we should win the series.

I did not expect that one at all! Bryz made up for the last game and we're back in control! Did anyone hear any more on Doan's injury?

Just got back from a Coyotes party. Everyone who attended wore white, if you didn't, you were not allowed in.:) Some of the neighbors, who were not hockey fans, came by to watch. The Coyotes bandwagon is alive and moving. The more, the merrier.

Getting that early goal was huge. I really liked the intensity of the Coyotes. They were definitely hitting harder today than in game two. Vrbatta is becoming one of my favorite Coyotes and Lombardi is playing big. Also, Michalek played a really good game. They will need more of that to have a legitimate shot at advancing.

Howard is one of the big reasons the Red Wings played so well in the second half of the season and made the playoffs. He only gave up one soft goal today. I would put more blame on Detroit's defense. They did not play with the intensity that the Coyotes did, especially in the 2nd and 3rd periods. I have a neighbor who is a Red Wings fan and he hopes Babcock does not put in Osgood for game four. I would love to see Osgood because he has rarely played this year.

This series is definitely not over. Anyone who knows hockey knows that Detroit is capable of taking this series. They have too much talent and we are only 3 games into this series. If the Coyotes win game four I will feel a little more confident but until they win that 4th game, it's not over.

I know Howard had a great regular season, but he sure hasn't looked good at all in the playoffs. Bryz hasn't looked great either, but we definitely have the advantage in the goalie matchup.

Disagree regarding today's game. He let in one bad goal but the Red Wings did not play good defense today. They had a lot of bad passes in the nuetral zone and the Coyotes were more aggressive and were able to get by the Detroit defenders, making it tough on Howard. Overall, the Red Wings were outplayed today and Howard was not as good as he has been this year, but in no way you can say he isn't no good. We are going to see a pissed off Red Wings team in game four and the first period is going to be big. If the Coyotes can escape with a tie after the first period, that will be a huge. A lead will be better. :)

Man do I hate the Red Wings. I was on ESPN.com trying to get an update on Doan when I read what this Red Wing fan wrote.

Detroit Sports Spartan (4/18/2010 at 6:10 PM) LOL you people hating on the Wings are losers just like Shane Done. I hope he is done for sure, the talentless ####! Phoenix better hope they beat the worst Red Wing team in the last 14 years because if not, they will be hightailing it out of the desert! None of their fans care! Screw em! HAHAHA

 times a million for MO.

heh - mind if I join in?

good god that team is absolutely snakebit - to keep with the normal sharks playoff series loss this is the time where i would normally state that it's not that bad

sure they slept through a game (at least it wasn't 2 games this year), 3 of the 8 goals allowed were by sharks and they have absolutely controlled the last couple of games and all they need to do is keep up this level of puck control, add a little more focus and work on better scoring opportunities and they'll be fine

then they go and dominate the next game and with the score out of hand some scrub will run one of the sharks better players knocking them out for the series .... the sharks will come back and play some epic 3 OT game and either lose on a tough goal to end the series or win it and lose the rest of the series as they're out of gas.............

but not this year - i'm much more pessimistic :D

I am excited about the 'yotes though and am really hoping they can keep this up - i really want them to advance - they remind me of when being a sharks fan was fun

I went to ESPN.com after the Suns game to see who won the San Jose/Colorado game and the ticker on the top of ESPN's webpage said San Jose won 1-0 on overtime. It was not until I got to work that I found out Colorado won on a fluke goal. I could not believe what I saw. What an unbelievable ending to a game.

Shane Doan will be out for Game 4. Big loss, but hopefully we can carry over the momentum from the last victory and steal another. Wishful thinking, but far stranger things have happened. As long as Bryz is on his game we have a great chance.

I apologize if this has already been addressed but does anyone know what channel todays game is on? I have DirecTV and the AZ Republic said it would be on the new Fox Sports Plus channel (680) which doesn't show up on my guide. I'm hoping this is a user error but if any other DirecTV users could pass along what channel the game is on it would be greatly appreciated. Go Yotes

Good game so far. Both teams playing extremely hard and things are pretty chippy out there.

Man these Detroit fans are crybabies. Everytime we hit someone they all throw their hands in the air and CRY for penalties.

I thought this was hockeytown?

Not capitalizing on the 5 on 3 in the third period was a killer. Detroit played very good defense and Howard on tonight. Have to win game five, don't want to go down 3-2 and have to win in Detroit. It's now a best of three.

I get very nervous after each loss, but I know that both teams simply come out even stronger after a loss. Hopefully that trend continues with the return of Doan. It comes back to capitalizing on PPs. In such an evenly matched series, those will be big. The Yotes had too many penalties early and gave Detroit that chance until they finally got one in. If we can just get past this team...I'm hearing winner of this series wins the Cup and I have to agree, especially if San Jose and/or Chicago gets upset.
