I'll still stand up for Whis. He's a good game manager. He's good at building game plans that put NFL-quality players in a position to succeed. I haven't forgotten the end of the 2011 season or the beginning of this one.

He just needs to lose all personnel authority (including over the Final 53) and replace his OC and Asst HC/OL Coach.

I don't think that there's anyone we're going to bring in with our (likely) coaching budget that is going to be better than Whis/Horton.

what good OC worth a damn is going to come here to coach with a lame-duck HC and why would you trust a lame-duck HC to make a top 5 and likely franchise defining pick for the next 5-10 years.

Because I don't know if high first round picks (should they fail) are franchise-defining anymore. Before the new CBA, if you blew a Top 5 pick, you were going to be screwed for 5-10 years because the contract was such an albatross.

Now? It hurts if you blow a first-round pick, but it's not devastating because you can financially move on from them and just replace them through free agency or keep drafting behind them.

You can get an OC in here and let him collaborate with Whis. Tons of young guys willing to come up from mid-teir NCAA programs or position coaches in the NFL (if their teams'll let them out of their contracts). They'll get a three-year deal and have some stability.

I prefer Horton + Whis + new OC more than a complete rebuild. It's not like the Chiefs are better off after starting from scratch wit Pioli and Haley.

Kolb is the only reason we won a game this year, and he would still be riding pine if it was up to Whiz's evaluation skills. Kolb is not the problem I can see a different coach/team doing ok with Kolb. He's not a Sanchez/Tebow/Skelton

The defense is the only reason we won a game this year. Kolb is bad, he is not as bad as the junk on our roster but he has no business starting and is not durable enough to keep the job anyway.

And yes, the failure for more than 3 years running to evaluate the QB position is why we are where we are. Kolb, Hall, Skelton, Lindley D-Wreck... they're all different brands of bad.

I'm still on board with Whiz. Give him 1 more year, then all bets are off. He's earned the benefit of the doubt.

Well that's your opinion but if he got fired tonight tomorrow I'd be a lot happier than I am right now.

Trust my opinion, I have done this kind of thing for over 30 years now. You have to take into account ALL factors, past & present. We are all frustrated & emotional right now. The ultimate decision makers know ALL the factors, we don't. From my experience, Whisenhunt's overall track record here in AZ, would lead me to extend him one more year. I may come across as a Whiz apologist, but most people that know me professionally, understand otherwise. One more year & RESULTS no matter what.

We need a QB, not a new head coach. No matter who we would bring in, we still have the same garbage QBs on our roster and the same limited options next offseason. Firing Whis doesn't change that it just causes less focus to be put on it.

We all know this is what's going to happen anyhow because he has one more year on his contract.

That's exactly what's going to happen.

Which is why if they shocked me and fired him I'd be estatic.

I want to fire Whiz to make a point to Whiz, but K9 makes sense. And if Whiz doesn't accept the changes, he will leave anyways.

Did you like the 4th and one call in the first quarter? What chance did you think that play had of succeeding as it was called?

I agree that KW has his strengths. It was under his leadership that we were two minutes away from the golden ring.

But his mismanagement of the QB position, post-Warner, has been just short of criminal.

And, the ONLY reason he shouldn't be arrested for attempted murder (of our QBs), is because Levi had the season ending injury.

Finally, what about play calling?

This was historically bad offense today. A humiliating display of ineptness that makes Jeff Blake laugh out loud at our third down conversion rate. LOL I say!

In the end, KW is directly responsible for this.

And K9, its not that I think The Whiz isn't capable of fixing it. Because I think he is. The real problem with Whiz is decision making.

How long will it be before he makes another incredibly bad player personnel decision?

You can take the draft and FA out of his hands, and maybe even play calling too, but what about who starts on Sunday? Are you going to trust that to KW?

I have no issue with the play call. As Billick pointed out on the replay after, Sherman ran straight up the gut and created a clear hole, but Beanie ran it wide and was stuffed. I seriously doubt that the play was not designed for the lead blocker to go straight and the back to go wide. That was likely an execution issue.

I think Whiz lost the team today, that usually happens right before you lose your job. Just a matter of time now.

I disagree. I think if Whis was going to lose the team, he would have lost them a long time ago. The players have not quit on him, amazing when you think about it.

I was defending him until the Falcon's game. I think after today it is pretty obvious that moving to Lindley was a mistake... or drafting Lindley. I'm not sure why we don't see we need to draft college QBs with over 60% completion percentages.

That said, I'm not advocating firing him... but I'm no longer against it. I think his loyalty to his people has been his undoing. I can't fathom why Mike Miller and Russ Grimm still have their jobs.

i think we need a new GM and he interviews Whiz- sets conditions and is the decider on Whiz or no Whiz- I think most NFL HC's would do much better with the Cards roster but not the staff. Whiz got control on his last contract and pulled a Buddy Ryan-

I kinda liked Miller as OC last year but he seems to be clueless this year. What happened?

Didn't Schiano want Rob McNulty as his OC in Tampa Bay this year? How about him for a new OC?

Miller aint calling anything anymore. He's doing the milly vanilly, lip syncing what Whiz is calling. Whiz has been gameplanning since his job has been in question, and the gameplan is getting worse.

It's hard after seeing a game like this but I'm sticking with Whiz.

Whoever was complaing about the play call on 4th an 1 is wrong. On th replay, Billick pointed out that if Wells would have just followed the FB, they get the 1st down. That play was on Wells and another example of players not executing.

6 points, and those came because of a turn over and a fake punt. The offense got nothing today. Our QBs get worse and worse once they get the starter job. They are like matches, go strong for a minute, then Whiz puts them out.

My prediction for the presser tomorrow...

"The defense had us in a position to win the game, but they just couldn't put any points on the board. It wasn't the offense's fault, Lindley only turned the ball over one time. I liked what I saw out there, we just need to execute. We feel worse than anybody."

Hey Dawg---Whisenhunt already said after the game that sticking with Lindley in the coaches' opinion gave them the "best chance to win."

Best chance to win?

0 for 15 on 3rd down conversions?

Which part of 0 for December in 3rd down conversions or even 0 wins for the past 8 games do the coaches not understand?
