we have bid 14million for him, Spurs want nearer the 16million they paid for him. He was on a plane to go with the Spurs party for the China tour and the Chairman pulled him off it so they could do a deal, then didnt.

Basically he posted every hour or so saying he was waiting to have his medical but couldnt until the final fee was agreed. His posts go more and more angry and ended up saying he was being messed around, wanted to sign for Sunderland and then posted he wished the Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would F*** off. :D

He would be a great addition to play alongside Jones, but its dragged on for a week now...

I'm starting to really hate Spurs. They totally lowballed Portsmouth because they knew Crouch wanted to play in London and now they are trying to hold Bent's and Sunderland's feet to the fire in order to squeeze every last dollar out of the deal.

I guess I wouldn't mind so much if Spurs weren't being so santimonious about the whole thing. Wankers.

Finally! Great news! I can't wait to see Jones and Bent playing up front together. That is going to be a lethal pairing, IMO.

Ha'way!
Please please please let this reduce the amount of 0-1 losses.

Seen as there has been alot of Newcastle bashing. Was it just me or were the Magpies completely out-played and very lucky to draw against West-Brom on the weekend?

Anyway just came to Hype up Preston. We WILL win promotion this season!!

I like Preston, my brother lives about 20 minutes form their ground so always go when Sunderland played them. Great bunch of supporters.

The Mags game was afunny one, I dont hink they shoudl have been behind at half time, but could have been a few down in the second half. Maybe WBA edged it but given it was the skunks hardest away game they wont be too upset about a draw.

Hmm, let's see...much of our talent has fled, our ownership status is in shambles, we haven't brought ANYONE in, we don't have a real manager yet, and our current players are unhappy and unsettled. Oh, and we managed a draw AWAY against arguably one of the toughest teams? Um, I'll take that, thanks much.

And, for the record, there really has not been that much Toon bashing for a while. Unless, "Toon" is a bash.

How comes there's a lot of support for Sunderland on here? It's not like they're a globally massive club.

We'll do okay. Unfortunately we're still way off pushing for 4th as we were a couple of years back under Jol. That was a fantastic season when it came down to the last game during the infamous 'lasagna-gate' haha.

My prediction is 6/7th.

I think Sunderland will do well this year to be honest. I quite like Sunderland mainly because I really dislike Newcastle. I can't stand their fans and their whole attitude about being the best fans in the world. As far as my football 'hate' list goes, it's something like...

1. Arsenal

2. Newcastle
3. Liverpool
4. Chelsea

It will be a very good season for Premiership football I can feel it. It's going to be mighty close at the top and even places 4th>10th are going to be fiercly more competitive than they have been in recent years.

If I have to say positions I'm going with...

Spurs: 6th
Sunderland: 10th

Bent to be 5th Premiership top scorer, marginally behind Defoe in 4th. :D
