No guards, no guards, no guards, no guards...

I'm sooooooo over this surplus of small, young guards fighting over minutes... We have to get bigger and more athletic at some point. I mean if we were going to get one of the two "SUPERSTAR" guards, that would have been fine but please lets not just take the same guy we've taken the past 20 years lol.

Well, except last year when we took not 1, but 2 bigs in the top 10.

We have 3 draft picks. We are taking at least 1 guard.

Ojeleye and Robinson are two players I really like especially Robinson who I can see becoming a starting caliber 3 & D SF in the draft.

Interesting that this kid has done his research on the Suns.

These two are intriguing. It looks like Ojeleye could play some PF.

It just made me laugh because he sounds like a PJ Tucker type. I will never forget that guy being mad at a guy for getting decent late night Mexican food in Arizona.

"Just toughness and defense.... scoring isn't the biggest thing that this team needs." - Semi Ojeleye on what he'd bring to the Suns.
Forget drafting this kid. Give him a job in the Suns front office.

Suns were 9th in scoring and 30th in opponent scoring and won 24 games

Actually, the Suns were better on defense than offense, strange as it may seem. Raw points for & points against need to be be pace adjusted. Pace adjusted we were 2.5 % worse than average on defense and 7.1% worse than average on offense. Translating to rank, we ranked 28th in pace adjusted offense and were 24th in pace adjusted defense. In other words, we scored lots of points (relatively speaking) because we played at a fast pace, not because we were good at scoring.

Something about Tucker being out with women late too. As if no other person in their 20s and 30s who are incredibly rich haven't done it before.

K then. I've heard all this before going way back...citing the Suns' tempo as an excuse for piss poor defense. Not buying it. Fix the problem.

Do you have a link to this analytical "translation?" I'd like to look at other teams around the league.

Doesn't the disparity between 9th in offense and 30th in defense scream 'pace', especially since our overall standing was so low. Other factors telling me our offense was very poor was a league worst assist to turnover ratio and being among the very dregs at three point shooting. They're certainly far from consistent with being the ninth best offensive team. Pace adjustment didn't make us appear to be a good defensive team, we only got bumped up 6 slots while our offense fell 19 slots. My point wasn't that our defense was good, it was that our offense stank more despite scoring lots of points.

The translation to rank was done by me counting how many teams were worse than us on off and on def.

Watching this team play it's quite obvious that we are a very poor defensive team but it's equally apparent that we are very inefficient on offense too. One defender isn't going to change our fortune much, we need improvement across the board from every player. And we definitely don't need a defense only or even a defense heavy player unless we can find a big that can shut down the paint.
