High praise from Luke Winn.

I'm telling you anyone who doesn't thinks this draft doesnt have any stud players (I am looking at JC Suns fan and his all star comment) plainly doesn't watch much college basketball. I have watched 95% of Wildcat games and can say with all certainty Williams will be the best NBA Wildcat of all time.

More I think about it, even if you have to give up Gortat, you do it simple. If its Dudley, Frye, Nash, or anyone else on this team you make the trade and worry about it later. No one on this team is good enough not to take a chance on Williams.

Everyone ******* about the Suns being stuck in just not quite good enough land, but the minute they want to trade up for the best player in college basketball this year and one of 2 legitimate POSSIBLE franchise guys in Derrick Williams, they become advanced NBA scouts.

Go watch the tape and tell me what you see. Williams is a combo of production, size (at SF) athleticism, and work ethic teams kill for.

Suns don't make this trade they WILL regret it. Sticky this bad boy and lets talk in 2 years. Someone can own my avatar for a year if I am wrong.

This isn't a homer talking. Dwill is the real deal. Make the trade.

Technically speaking, didn't you already lose your avatar? I seem to recall you making a wager that the Suns would be in the playoffs with the 5 seed or better.

I hope you're right on Williams. I like watching the guy play and I'm confident that he'll have a decent career (Joe Smith level at the worst) but I just don't know if he'll be a franchise level player. I hope so, but, for me, he's the kind of player that is just so hard to project his skills at the next level.

Quit dreaming up ways to get rid of Gortat. Ain't happening.

That is slinslins wet dream. Trading Gortat. It wouldn't even matter if you got garbage in return. He would still be happy. lol.

Plus it would put his boy Lopez back in the starting lineup.

It's not like I want another season of mediocrity. I wanted to blow up the team from time to time in previous years as well. For me its like Stefan said, being loyal and "do the right thing", plus the fact that we've often been on the short end of sticks in trades and in the draft.

If they're certain Williams will be great then I agree they should just get it done (as long as they don't take back albatross contracts or sell/trade next years first rounder). Give them Nash if that's who they want. If they want The Polish Hammer we need something real coming back + #2.

Gortat has been a statistic machine in the Sun's weakest area. I can't figure out why Slin has this perverse desire to trade the best center I've seen them wiith foar a long long time.

As for getting Williams, I can understand why the Wolves do't want to pay 2nd pick money for a guy suffering in a conjected front court. Oddly enough, They are supposedly looking for veteran wings. I'm not sure we have what they want, but that' remains to be seen.

IMHO, the "expendibles" include Childress, Pietrus, Warrick, Lopez, Laeal, Dowdell, and Stiler. Guys who should be kept are Dudley, Gortat, Frye, and Brooks, Hill and Nash are too close to retirement to have much value. plays well and Nash is too close to retiring to have much value

I'm not so sure Williams at SF would be too bad as lont as Gortant and Frye remain.

Speaking of, why do you have that decaying avatar? Also a wager thing? :)

Nah, it's just a part of the training process to survive the impending zombie apocalypse. You don't want to freeze the first time you see a killer zombie do you? Also, although he's apparently forgotten, I won an avatar bet that the Suns would not finish in the 5th seed or better and was holding on to my avatar just in case I lost.

The reality is that the Suns don't have much to offer that the TWolves would by interested in trading the#2 pick.

If this were a normal draft with a cluster of projected stars at the top you might be right. I do not see any sure things at the top of the draft. However, Gortat and #13 (or a future first) should get the Suns very close. I can also see the Suns trading trying to include Brooks for Flynn in such a proposal.

That is too much. The Suns should be able to get it done with a pick this year and possibly a late next. They should be able to get it done with their pick this year and maybe Lopez or another player on this roster.

Hell yeah they could get it done with our pick and Gortat. However, that is way too much in this draft. As you stated it's hard to peg any "sure things" in this weak draft. If this was a deep draft then trading Gortat plus our pick is freaking no brainer for one of the top 2 picks.

I'd like to keep Gortat but I'm just going with the rumors. :D

I'd like to get something for Brooks than let the Suns let another player walk for nothing.

The only way I include Gortat in a trade with Minnesota would be if we got significant value in return. I'd want the #2, Randolph, Flynn/#20. In return I'd send Minnesota Gortat, #13 and anyone other than Nash, Dudley, and Frye.

Gortat isn't going anywhere, maybe the All Start game but that's about it. I'll bet on that. (him not being traded)

An interesting thought.

The Chad Ford article on ESPN has Gortat and #13 for #2 and Pekovic as being a possible deal. No thanks.

It doesn't mean Randolph could not be included in the trade. This rumored trade might include more players.

Gortat, Warrick, Brooks, and #13 for Flynn, Randolph, #2 and #20?

Someone on .net suggested Lopez, Duldey, and #13 for Webster and #2, which I would do as well as much as I love Teddy.

I'd do Nash and #13 for #2, #20 and any garbage contracts they want to dump.

I don't know anything about Pekovic, but based on his player card, they are virtually identical in size and Pekovic's rookie year compares to Gortat's 3rd year. Comparing those two seasons, each player had similar minutes per game, Gortat had +1.2 rebounds, +0.4 blocks, and +2% FG shooting. Pekovic had +1.9 points, +0.9 fouls, +0.2 assists, and +8.3% FT shooting.

For whatever it's worth.

This in no way indicates that Pekovic can blow up in his 2nd year the way Gortat did in his 4th....

I'd much prefer the 2nd trade. Brooks would have to be a s&t and maybe we could get a 1st in the 20s with Brooks from some team. I think that getting someone like Jeremy Tyler in the 20s would be a great add.
