why so doomsday? he's a mini amare on offense but a super amare on defense because he actually tries.
It's amazing we were able to get him for only 4 per!

GRAB YOUR BARF BAG
Hakim Warrick and Channing Frye? Talk about shooting for mediocrity. Still have to keep our cool and not throw our future at Amare...
So, what will be our new slogan? We're number 15!!! We're going half the way! Come watch us play, please! Or will we be like some of those teams that advertise upcoming games solely on the strength of the players coming in to town to beat up on us. I can hear Sarver now - "mediocre, shmediocre, as long as we sell tickets I'm a happy duck"
So all those that wanted the Suns to let Amare walk
welcome to the "Come see [insert "kobe/lebron/wade/amare"] play against YOUR phoenix suns" years . . .
Point, tweeters. Suns checked today & there's no way to do a beneficial sign-and-trade. Amare's rights still won't be renounced til the 8th.
This from Coro:
It sure sounds like Sarver and whoever else decided to agree to terms with Warrick didn't know they'd lose the ability to sign and trade Amare. If true, that is beyond pathetic.
Then again, the Warrick AND Frye agreements can't be made until the 8th either. As of now, they are just verbal agreements. Don't see us going back on them, but the possibility still exists.
So can someone tell me if this is a possible scenario? Assuming the Suns haven't renounced Amare's bird rights yet, they sign-and-trade him on July 8th to New York for a $17M TPE (and maybe a draft pick). I've read that the TPE does not count against the cap. So now they have $11M under the cap to work with (since Amare comes off the books and we don't acquire any players in the trade) before signing anyone. They use $10M to re-sign Frye and to sign Warrick, so the agreements have been honored. After that, they still have a $17M TPE they can use later plus whatever pick(s) we got in the trade. Then again, the Warrick AND Frye agreements can't be made until the 8th either. No one should be complaining about Sarver here. Amare wants 100 mil for 5 years with crappy defense, rebounding, and bad knees. The Suns gave him a damn good offer and he turned it down. Time to move on. I'm glad they got Warrick back because at least he is a body down there. There's very little chance the Suns could have done something bigger anyway. Live with it.
We won't ever win a ring with Amare so its not like we lost something amazingly great. We'll be back folks
I thought it did, but in another thread you told me it didn't, and I didn't bother to look it up. Oh well, at least now we know for sure. That's incorrect. The TPE does count against the cap.

Why didn't we just sign a guy like Tyrus Thomas!!
Hahaha look at people make fun of us!
"Warrick was the forgotten man on the Milwaukee Bucks last season, even after signing a relatively cheap deal with the team during the offseason. Traded to Chicago in February, Warrick was the frustrating man -- alternating bouts of strong interior moves off feeds with terrible defensive and rebounding habits.
And it's because of this that Hakim will fit right in. He's a mini-Stoudemire, down to a T. He can finish in traffic. He can make smart moves with his wiry body on the fly, especially after catching a tough pass. He can run the floor and he can pop accurately from 15 feet. He can also lose sight of his man defensively, which is hard to do as a power forward, and he's almost certainly no help in terms of rotation or help defense."
People like to claim that "the SUNS will never be a great defensive team"......and that those members of the fanbase "should just stop clamoring for it" and "get over it" ...are freakin messiah's of the culture here.Too late.
So all those that wanted the Suns to let Amare walk....we replaced him with the Juggernaut that is Warrick and Frye. Both are sub par defenders. One dissapears offensively on the road and the other is not good offensively period.
What the hell? I said it before and I will say it again. If you were going to let Amare walk, at least replace him with someone who can defend and rebound.
You can't tell me there were not other trade scenarios the Suns could have at least explored. Holy crap.
