The Colangelos have done some major house-cleaning at AWA and BOB - not sure what this trade really gets us. Helps NYK for sure.

That's 38 mil.
It seems to be unlikely that the cap will raise above 45 mil. which mean we will have about 7 mil. cap room.

So forget Kobe and T-Mac!

if it's a sign and trade for one of 'em then you'd have to reduce our cap number by the amount of the player traded and the pick you're assuming will gobble up cap space. i see some familiar signs here. we deal with orlando a lot. they like to acquire multiple picks (see the webber for penny and picks deal and the penny for garritty and picks deal). we have multiple picks and some garritty-like filler to offer, and we have increased flexibility with the cap. i see us acquiring tmac. just my two cents.

also, rarely are the colangeli taken in a trade. i may not understand some of 'em when they happen, but, for the most part, they have a plan and come out on top. i'm willing to adopt a "wait-and-see" attitude with them. this is still a shocker though.

Current cap : $55,876,833

minus Marbury & Hardaway $29,250,000

plus Eisley $6,375,000

equals: 33,001,833

Is there a contract I'm leaving out.
Yes, there is. Voskuhl's.

The 55,876, 833 is not correct. You have to add Voskuhl's salary.

They still have the expansion draft coming up. They might be able to dump White or someone else on that team by offering some of their picks.
Right now we have all of our own picks and 3 first round picks from other teams.

New York fans say that Lampe is included as well.

What does our roster look like now?

1-Amare
2-Marion
3-Zarko
4-Barbosa
5-Voshkul
6-Johnson
7-Jacobsen
8-Williams - FA
9-White
10-Harvey - FA
11-Trybanski
12-Lampe
13-Eisley
14-Ward - likely bought out right away - FA
15-Gugliotta - FA
16-McDyess - FA

Vujanic in Europe
2 first round picks this season and a 2nd round pick.

I doubt we are done. At latest something will happen on draft day.

Sorry if that was confusing.

Hardaway and Marbury combine to MAKE $29,250,000.

55,876,833 - 29,250,000 + 6,375,000 = 33,001,833

that's the part that bugs me the most. it tells the other players in the league, that if you come to phoenix, you're 30 games away from being part of an entire cleansweep of the organization.

wasn't it generally viewed as a good thing when they re-upped stephon early, showing loyalty/stability yada, yada, yada...

.........or NOT.......

if we were knicks fans, we'd be talking about the steal of the century....

Yes, that's theoretically possible but then why isn't McGrady involved in this trade?
Want ORL get a lower pick at the end of this season.

The main problem than McGrady can't force the Magic for signing-and trading him to the Suns because the Suns can offer only a much lower contract for T-Mac and everybody knows that.

I would love to see t-mac on this team but the problem still remains that we always change the direction of this team and we will never build a winner in this league if every two years we make a "Blockbuster" trade that changes the face of the team. Look at the good teams like the lakers and the spurs. They stand pat and add role players. Bryan Colangelo is the problem. He doesnt have the vision and the plan to become a winner.

Voskuhl's name is included in the table but his salary is not added to the team pay-roll.
You can check it if you add the individual salaries.

it is always talked about---next year, the future, down the road......it never gets here.

i've got a friend with a sign at his lake cabin that says, "free beer tomorrow". that's what the suns seem to be doing.

i do agree with the post that said the c's usually make pretty sound trades, so i do take some solace there. but i ain't all that thrilled with watching the suns for a while.

i'm getting afraid that they're about 2 moves away from becoming the clippers....clearing cap space for the future, stockpiling draft picks, making the roster younger and more athletic............ and winning 30 games a year.

Ahhh ... Got it. It does work out to 34.8.

Thanks for the correction.

Are you suggesting that Marbury is even close to the talent level of Duncan or O'Neal? I think some people need to put down the grape kool-aid. :p

here is something i hadnt thought about. this was posted on espn's suns board. as to who the suns most likely FA signing would be this off season. and to be honest it makes a lot of sense.

I know everyone now wants to know what the Suns are going to due with their new-found cap room. The one FA that I was hearing that the Suns absoluelty covet is Manu Ginoboli. He played under D'Antoni overseas and this gives them the flexibility to go get him if they want to. The Spurs wont be able to match the offer is the Suns overpay for him. Anyways, that is the guy I think is most likely to sign with the Suns next year.

i dont see them going after kobe (he will be in court all summer and then maybe jail). this might be a really good pick up for the suns if they really want to play an inside out offense.

in no way am i saying steph is anywhere near as good as an oneal or a duncan. I'm just saying consistancy with solid talent can build a winner. I felt that the core of marion steph and amare was solid and could have in the long run with the right role players been very sucessful in this league.
