Yes, if they are not a future consecutive picks.

This year's pick seems to be unprotected and we got also a future protected pick which can not be a 2005 pick.

So let me get this straight, if Cleveland makes the playoffs, we may have 3 first round draft picks this year??

And it might be possible since we are under the cap.

3 first rounders (this year's lottery  ) to trade...

Suns probably will have only about 7 mil. cap room which is not enough for anything.

i'm flat out shocked.

unless we land mcgrady or kobe somehow, this trade is gonna be terrible. i understand we rid ourselves of bad contracts and acquire expiring ones, but to lose a pg of that quality? makes no sense. after a center, i think pg is the most difficult position to fill. barbosa? flashes maybe, but can we be certain about him? i'm baffled. looks like we're playing for emeka okafor boys and girls!

Am I the only one who is optimistic about this???

- 2 1st rounders?

- Someone to mentor Amare in McDyess.

- I like Charlie Ward. He's heady and will play tough ass defense.

- Barbosa is a star in the making.

- This trade cleared MAJOR cap space for a big-time FA class.

- Isn't Vujonic supposed to be a helluva player?

- I'm still in shock. I'm trying to digest everything. I had a feeling the Colangelo's weren't satisfied with this current chemisty.

- Marbury's 4th team. There's something to that.

If the suns get a couple first round picks and get salary cap relief I do not think this is so bad........

Stephan Marbury does not always seem to be a team player........The picks he runs are very upsetting most of the time!!

We will miss his scoring, but we get rid of Pennys horrible contract and I think the other players will pick up the scoring because "they will have the ball" to do so now.....!

I am not happy with getting McDyess after what he cost the suns, but if he can not play after his injury, he will be gone after this season because his contract is up. If he resigns it has to be for a lot less money.

And why bring back a guy who turned his back on us and so far this year hasn't shown anything? And that PF will be supplanted to the bench when our regular PF gets back. How does that work?

You are absolutely right, none of this makes sense. A few players get injured, the team has no opportunity to meld, and suddenly, the entire plan is scrapped, and the season is given up. We didn't even get rid of our bad max contract, Marion. Absolutely mind boggling.

Despite our disagreements in the past, I sort of agree.

Colangelos are trying to hit a home run with this trade just like when they traded Nance for KJ.

This team was going NOWHERE in it's current state. Marbury or no Marbury.

I dont see much in return in this trade besides cap flexability. But I do trust our management so I will give them the benifit of the doubt.

B]

Haven't seen much of him but he is supposed to be a european Steve Nash with more Iverson to his game or something like that.

He isn't the best PG in europe however.

Yep. Vujanic could be a slam dunk as well.

Oh and something else.

Actually I am happy to have Dice back. The only reason fans booed him when he was here was because they loved him so much.

Vujanic:

He is a dream for scouts and coaches in the NBA:. A late round stael. A point guards with scorer mentality….one of the best players in Europe this season with more than 25 points a game… A scoring machine who has had a break out season… a point guard with a scorers mentality who can also play as a SG…...Has shown so far this season that he can deliver at the highest level in Europe...This guy is only getting better….Has extremely developed his offense game… He's a winner - only 23 years of age but with huge European Experience. And lots with the Natioal Team. Next season he'll likely play for one of the biggest clubs in Europe or in the NBA..... Has good body frame size with nice athletic abilities and qreat quickness…. A Scorer and a shooter (improved his shooting stroke this season) good shot behind the arc but still inconsistent (most of his years so far 35- 40% from the 3 points)…He's very difficult to guard......Uses many skills on offense but his best weapon is his first quick first step…. Has very good ball handling ability…Excellent on drives (can dish the ball to an open player)… Has good court vision…Likes the ball in his hands in the clutch… Draws a lot of attention from opponents on defense. He draws almost 10 fouls a game… Has decimated his points average in Euroleague this season from 13.5 to more than 25 a game…Has one of Europe's quickest first steps. Has supurb body control…. Has quick hands (excellent ballhawk) but needs to improve his defensive game (more aggressive attitude)… His defensive game seems to be affected by his ability to score, more focus is needed defensively …. Excellent from the FT line…he is consistently improving... There is some doubt about his ability to play against aggressive guards especially in the NBA..... He must bulk up and be more aggressive in his floor game…. He is not a pure PG and sometimes forgets his PG duties…. Must become more consistent despite the fact that has greatly improved here during the last season….He has displayed great character this season with Partizan showing that he has "grown up" and ganed a lot of maturity..... Developed his game stepped up his mental approach.... A guy who shows up in money time – A clutch player in Europe, who can carry a team on his back. He's fearless and has that killer instinct.

And where exactly to you propose Dice fits into our team? He is injury-prone and only averages 8 ppg. F him.

Yes, you are.

- 2 1st rounders?
Yes, probably a mid 1st rounder and a future 1st.

- Someone to mentor Amare in McDyess.
What?Please...

- I like Charlie Ward. He's heady and will play tough ass defense.
Suns will buy-out Ward that's for sure.

- Barbosa is a star in the making.
Yes, he is. No doubt.

- This trade cleared MAJOR cap space for a big-time FA class.
Not major. Only about 7 mil. which is not enough for a max. FA.

- Isn't Vujonic supposed to be a helluva player?
No, he is not. He is a talented, scoring PG and that's it. He is not near at the level of Marbury and I have the feeling that he will never be.

- I'm still in shock.
Me too.

From Suns.com:

Suns to Make Trade
Suns President Bryan Colangelo confirmed to Suns.com that a major trade is in the works, but would not comment on the specifics at this time. Several media outlets, including ESPN.com, are reporting that the Suns will re-aquire forward Antonio McDyess, guards Howard Eisley and Charlie Ward, the rights to Milos Vujanic and two first round draft picks in exchange for guards Stephon Marbury and Penny Hardaway. Check back with Suns.com this afternoon for more, as soon as it becomes available.

There's a huge picture of McDyess on the front page of the site.

I am shocked at all of this optimism. The assumption is, that all of these young players, including the picks will actually turn out to be something, while the fact of the matter is, many don't. I would much rather have my money in a proven commodity, i.e. Marbury. On top of this, we will have a ridiculous amount of players to deal with, on top of a roster that already is full of pretty young players. The entire focus of the team is a mystery, and somebody better have a damn good plan here.

THIS IS THE WORST TRADE EVER. THERE BETTER BE ANOTHER DEAL IN THE WORKS FOR A VERY BIG NAME LIKE A TMAC.
