bitch all you want, but anyone who follows closely knows the past three years of trades will take us to the next level by clearing cap space to sign free agents with less risk...... this was a weak draft.

Nope. The trade fee of $500 would be too much.Sun Devil Jay said:Is there any chance the Suns could trade in to the second round and get someone like Hasaan Adams?
Its Bidwill and he was not cheap, just wasn't a smart spender...TBaslim said:My point is, the last two years of draft do not prove Sarver cheap like Bidwill, and do not prove the Suns have decided to never build the team via the draft again. Quite the opposite. If the see a player they like, they make something happen if possible to get him (like Barbs via Spurs).

Look - the draft is fun as a fan and all, but this is not a great draft year. There are some nice future NBA players throughout, but only a handful who could really make an impact on the Suns next year.
Face it - we are absolutely in a win now mode. And, in win-now mode with a fairly young team with a bright, bright future (Amare, Diaw, Barbs, for example).
A vet like TT can make a huge difference next year. We know Barbs and Diaw can play (last I saw them, they were getting burn in the WCF, which = experience).

Would you rather get a possible contributor like Marcus Williams or something, with all the normal draft unknowns, or have the $$ to keep this team together for a title?
The Suns mgmt are not idiots. Yes, they have traded out of the back end of the last two drafts. But a few years before that, they got studs like Marion and Amare. In this draft, they liked a few guys and tried to get them, but were not willing to sell the farm for them (Carney, Thabo, etc).
They now have a great position in next year's deeper draft to find some other good young talent. Or, they could use them as assets to find other players.

My only bitch of Suns draft the last few years is trading the #7 - I think that was a miss, but understand the financial reasons BC did it. Also, last year Nate Robinson would have been nice, but I'd rather give Barbs the burn (which we did).

Great job Saver and Co.
Now we have to pray Nash doesn't break down playing 33+mins per night.
Another wasted draft, another wasted 3 hours of watching the draft.

We have no guard depth. We've got Nash, Bell & Barbosa. House is expected not to excercise his option, but even if he does he's not great depth. We needed a true backup PG and had our pick of all the PGs in the draft.Evil Ash said:Questonable depth? We're 9 deep with Amare and KT back
