IDC what anyone says, I liked Lopez. He brought a meaness to our team. Weve aways had a bunch of softies like Nash and Grant, It was nice seeing Lopez smash somebody every now and again.

So glad we dump Warrick. He and Childress were total leaches.

Not thrilled about Wesley coming here. Im just counting the days till we can drop him and open up that additional cap space.

Ive never seen such a complete rebuilding of a team like this. Except for Dudley and Fry, this team in unrecognizable.

I need this in English.

It almost sounds like under the right conditions the Suns might never receive a first round pick but a second round pick and money by 2016.

Basically if Memphis doesn't make the playoffs until 2016 we won't have a first round pick unless they do make the playoffs in between 2013-2016. If Memphis fails to do so it's turns into a second round pick in 2017

If Memphis in the lottery for the next 4 years then the Suns will get a 2nd rounder. Or the first year that Memphis makes the playoffs the Suns will get their first rounder. Odds are that Memphis makes the playoffs in 2013 and the Suns get their first rounder in 2013.

We now have 3 1st round picks in next year's draft and 2 2nds. There should be no whining if we trade a couple of these picks because there is no way we bring on 5 rookies next year. You can whine if we sell them though.

I didn't read anything in there about 2017.

Leave it to Folster to make my life miserable by adding all these disclaimers.

Just kidding of course. :)

Yeah, if they're stockpiling these picks so they can sell them for cash there's gonna be a lynch mob. (metaphorically speaking of course)

It will depend on the trade. Drafting international players who don't come over right away is also an option, so it's not like all those picks would have to suit up next year.

Memphis should clearly make the playoffs before 2016 so we should get a first round pick is what I am reading.

Thanks, it's what I thought. However, that does not relieve me of the trauma of reading it multiple times.

I like having lots of chips on the table. :D

I figure the Suns can get something good from another team by the trading deadline when the wheels start to come off and they realize they are not going anywhere.

I would love for the Suns to trade for another first round pick in 2014. That draft will be loaded with talent.

Not a serious question: Can any other team offer Orlando 5 1st round picks and a solid starting center for Howard? While Howard is a pipe-dream, I think the Suns are positioning themselves to make a run at Harden.

I want the Suns to be the New England Patriots of the NBA moving around in the draft and still getting the players they want.

Can anyone confirm that the Memphis pick actually is the pick we would get? Everyone is just assuming at this point.

I agree, our original goal was Harden but now we have bigger fish to fry. Seriously the Suns have put themselves in a position to do a big trade if the opportunity comes along.

I wouldnt be surprisd if the reason teams are throwing these picks at the suns is because the 2013 draft is weak..

Still a great trade none the less

It's highly unlikely that Minnesota would trade their own pick because they are likely to have a better pick than Memphis, and trading their pick with protection could hamstring them from being able put together future trades. It's safe to assume we are getting the Memphis pick

Now we give Wesley Johnson some coaching and playing time and hope he turns into another asset or possibly someone we want to keep. I would also like them to find a young center who has the tools but so far has underachieved. To me the only thing more fun than watching a winning team is watching a team with potential hopefully show some promise.

That analysis from RealGM posted by Folster leads me to the conclusion it is the Memphis pick.

However, my mind can be changed.

I like where this is going. Instead of perpetually mortgaging first round picks, we're inheriting them. Babby understands it takes these sort of bargaining chips to obtain quality players from other teams. Plus, we got rid of a bad contract and acquired a low-risk player in Johnson.

If you would have told me two weeks ago that losing Lopez would mean getting a first round pick and eliminating Warrick's contract, I'd be elated.

Elston Turner is a finalist for the Blazers HC job... :(

It would be a shame if we lost him. He's a defensive genius and now he finallly has some young and athletic players to work his magic with on the Suns.

I have a feeling if he left, we would hear the back lash from the media later because he would turn out good in Portland.

Trying to understand the origin of this pick is more confusing than understanding the risk involved in mortgage-backed securities. Hopefully investment in such complicated instruments works out better for the Suns than it did for Iceland.

Nah, we will most likely get it next year. The Grizz would have to have some real serious injuries to not make the playoffs next season.

Its a head coaching job, no one would come down on a team for not keeping an assistant from taking a HC job somewhere else.

That's what I got too. The Suns have four years to collect, which requires Memphis to make the playoffs at least once during that period. Otherwise, they'll get a mid-second-rounder and like it.
