Since the days of AZprosports and even the old AOL boards, you'll without fail find those that will back the FO no matter what, and never find fault with the team. Never mind the fact that the Cardinals have been inarguably one of the least successful teams in all of sports.

Some people will make excuses and put up with anything, despite all evidence that nothing will change. Let's face it - at best I expect the Cards to be good about 2 out of every ten years. Pretty sad, but that's the reality.

While it's annoying that people can be so obtuse, despite all evidence to the contrary, it's also a bit heartening as well. (I even get nostalgic for a couple good Tango "wailing and gnashing of teeth" comments) The best you can do is shake your head and laugh.
I don't blindly back this front office personally, but I do feel positive about what is currently taking place. Free agency is only 2 days old and we have brought in 5 players already and we are continueing to talk to many more. If they can get a hold of 2-3 more starter quality free agents specifically a safety and an ILB and drop Kolb I will be satisfied with this years free agency period.

Then we still have the draft to hopefully get 3 more starter quality players specifically the Oline and maybe some luck with the QB position. Will all of these things happen? Probably not, but if they at least accomplish most of this than I would be happy with the off season in general. If this year turns out to be terrible and we win only like 2 games than that will only help us to get Bridgewater. Just hopeing we don't see another 5-11 season and a #7 draft pick next year.

I find it amusing that Keim said he never wanted to to see a game like the Seattle game last year again and then did this. We are going to get murdered next year.

I also find the "wait and see" crowd very amusing. Wait and see what? We signed a 35 year old S to replace one of our best defensive players in Kerry Rhodes. We re-signed a player most wanted to run out of town to replace Adrian Wilson at SS. We signed a new rush OLB who is 29 and has never been defensive starter to a contract that is over 4x more than he got paid last year when he was a special teamer. Our 3mil+ starting QB is 29 years old, has started 4 games in 6 years, and has 187 career passing attempts. Our new RB has a career 4.1 yards per attempt replacing our old RB who has a career 4.0 yards per attempt. Our current #2 CB has never played more than 12 games in a single season in his 4 year career.

There is no wait and see. I have seen what these players have done, and to expect them to suddenly change because they signed in Arizona is silly. If you believe the staff can "coach them up" then you are kidding your self again. Most of these players have already played for our current staff. Were they not coached up the first time they played for Arians or Bowles but will be this time? I'm not saying we should all quit the Cardinals, but I am saying you should take of your rose colored glasses and see this team for what it really is. A less talented team than the one we watched in 2012 when we went 5-11.

Well, sure there's a wait and see. I can't speak for the others here that fall in that group but for me, it's wait and see how long it takes to dig us out of the hole we're in. Or, wait and see if this organization really wants to dig us out of that hole or if it's back to Bill's business as usual. I certainly don't expect us to field a competitive team this year. I think we're a bad team right now, I think we were a bad team when the season ended and I'd be shocked if we were anything other than a bad team when the 2013 season ends. But that doesn't mean we're not headed in the right direction.

2 and 14...

Maybe, but I would rather go 2-14 this way than suffer through another 4-12 season with Whisenhunt and Grimm. They may go 2-14 this year, but anyone expecting this team to do bad in 2014 is off their rocker. The pieces are being put in place for the future.

Its news to me that this is the team the Cards are going into the season with.So forget free agency and the draft. No hope at all .The sky is fallingg and Cardeggeddon is here.

So.. you're saying that we should wait through June 1 cuts? To judge the team that we put on the field in August and September?

Sounds like the prelude to a 3-13 season.

Why do these have to be the only two options? There's no reason it has to be "status quo or wholesale changes." This defense was among the NFL's best, and we decided to tear it back down to studs (and there are precious few left, thanks to this week's roster moves), while our offense has tread water.

The worst offense in the NFL.

As for LIAC--lay off him. This team has managed to sign a bunch of players and commit a bunch of 2014 money while not improving the talent of a 5-11 team. Maybe the communication, teamwork, cohesion... I don't know, spirit? of the team might be improved, but the talent has not. We've gotten older and less talented in the past 7 days. Awesome.

LIAC didn't say that he'd stop following or cheering for the team; he said that he wasn't going to go to anymore games. I don't blame him. No one has made the case that this team is going to be better in 2013 than they were in 2012. Isn't that supposed to be the point of cleaning house at the top of the organization?

Dude drives six to eight hours to come to games, and then another six to eight hours back. Many of you should show similar commitment to supporting this team. This organization hasn't shown that it's made its case that they're going to be good, or trying to be better in 2013.

I'm sure he'll have no shortage of options for seats if he wants to re-up in 2014.

I only highlighted those two options because that's the only two options being thrown around the board. As far as LIAC, I'm not jumping all over him. We all have a right to be disgruntled as a fan if you follow this team. God knows I was the last three years with Whisenhunt.

Trying to look for positives shouldnt be considered blindly following the front office. For me, sports, the NFL in particular is an escape. Relaxing. To sit back and NOT be optimistic is out of the question. WHy then, would I continue to follow this team? I may be wrong in my optimism, but I feel worse for those who seem to THRIVE only complaining and wailing, and gnashing their teeth. Because you seem to only be happy being miserable.

Im acutely aware of this teams history (at least since 88). I will go into every year thinking "this is the year" and I will never apologize for it.

LOL at the meltdown of some fans. Reality is that this team was horrible for most of last year. I was far more upset at the acquistion of Kevin Kolb and the steep price paid to acquire him in trade and sign him to a long-term contract than I am with what the Cardinals are doing this offseason.

Ever heard the expression, "Short term pain-long term gain?" Well IMO you are experiencing it. With the exception of Yeremiah Bell, the free agents signed are relatively young and inking their second contracts. That is filling out your roster the right way. Where performance doesn't match paycheck, the Cardinals are rightly parting company by cutting the player.

I'm perfectly willing to let Steve Keim, Jason Licht, and Bruce Arians remake the roster to add toughness and players that can compete in the NFC West for the long-term. I think they'll be better at that than the previous regime. But time will tell. Be patient and give them the full offseason before condemning their body of work.

So fans get pissed at Rod Graves moving too slow, but they also get pissed at the new regime moving too fast and making some big changes? I don't get it. This has been everything we asked and waiting for year after year...for decades. I love me some new Cardinals.

Ding! ding! ding! ding! So many complaints about the Snail moving too slow and not signing anyone and now so many complaints about moving too fast and making decisions up front and not dragging their heels until the last minute. Apparently some here are never satisfied with what the team does or maybe they are just habitual complainers. There are people who get enjoyment out of complaining and we apparently have some on this board.

As for me I am waiting until the dust settles to see what has transpired then make a decision on what the team makeup looks like. So far I have had no problem with the moves made to date. Yes I don't like losing Rhodes however if he didn't want to be a Cardinal then I had no problem jettisoning him. He didn't want to extend and he didn't want to help the team with the cap space so I see him as not being a team player. See ya later!

The Mendenhall deal was perfect, sign him for a year see if he works out and if he does great sign him to a longer contract, if he doesn't let him walk and no cap hit in 2014 for him.

We are actually acting like a real franchise right now. Sorry if you don't like it, but we had a dumb salary cap figure with a lot of players overpaid for their positions or their production. We are rebuilding, and are going to build up the Oline like we should have for years now.

This IS how real franchises act. Graves is no longer running the ship.

Im a fan but not quite a fanatic. I am here to enjoy the ride, good or bad and love the team regardless.

Once upon a time I was a fanatic, had to step back one day and ask myself why.

That's exactly what I did. Although I reserve the right to be fanatical from time to time. :D

Damn right........although if Fitz ever gets traded, it will be tough.

Meh, I am a huge ADUB and Boldin guy, I root for them wherever they go but bottom line is, #BIRDGANG period. Im sad to see favorites leave but a new favorite always emerges.

That's exactly what I did. Although I reserve the right to be fanatical from time to time. :D

I have to say, free agency makes the price of ASFN admission the best deal on the internet - and that's saying something with all those darn lol-catz all over the place for free.

That being said, being insane (like myself) is the best way to approach the Cardinals. Year after year I watch what's going on with stunned amazement, only to decide that it's all going to work out somehow. We fans are the Flounders of the NFL (the Animal House one, not the cute little best friend in The Little Mermaid, for those of you with kids) where we trust the same guys who totally screwed up our brother's new car, only to discover they're about to do something worse - like turning it into a Deathmobile.

Yet if one of us says something along the lines of "Hey! I'm not sure I can take this insanity anymore," we turn on them like desertdawg attacking a Taco Bell after midnight. We need some kind of "safety" word like they have in S&M (don't ask me how I know this). Some way to say we need a time out from the pain, so we can regroup and do it all over again.

Anyway, sorry to have digressed. Thanks to everyone for bleeding red all over these pages. I am lucky to not be smart enough to know just how awful all these recent changes are going to turn out, so I'll just keep on watching the train wreck unfold, blissful in my ignorance until the next 5-11 season is posted. :)

Is it too late to point out that the OP never said he was giving up on the team? He just doesn't want to go to all the time, effort and expense of seeing them live, especially if they aren't putting a product on the field that he enjoys.

Thrashing? Been there, done that.

One game. A damn good D made us competitive in many games. We were in desperate need of help on offense. Possibly as bad as we have ever been. The D did not need to be screwed with.

I will be happy with this season if we don't have an extended losing streak like we have for the last three years. Those 0-6, 0-7 and 0-9 streaks are tougher to take than having a few wins sprinkled in here and there and riding a few shorter streaks like 0-2, 0-3 maybe even 0-4. Those long droughts are tough to take at least for me.
