Sorry Ken, I won the Kumite and get to start the thread.

Writing's on the wall, couldn't be more clear.

Let's go Derek Anderson...find the magic gloves of accuracy +1 and give us something to cheer for out there! Win us some games...throw that deep ball (to our guys please) and breathe before throwing the shorter stuff. I got your back...(safer than in front where you might throw a ball through my neck).

In all seriousness, I hope this guy finds his mojo and leads us to a ton of wins. Our schedule is very favorable.

I want nothing more than success for this team of ours.

If DA up leading us to 10 wins, and a 3rd straight NFC West crown, then so be it!

If it's Leinart that takes us to the promised land of the playoffs again, I can dig that too.

Hell...Hitler could be our QB, and Stalin our Pro-Bowl pass-rush specialist, and if we're winning I could care less.

Zero to Godwin's law in 4 posts.

I don't think a hypothetical reference to Hitler makes it Godwin's law. And I'm pretty sure he was talking about Freddy Hitler and little Bobby Stalin anyway.

Still a reference is a reference in my score book. It wasn't a comparison, per se, but brought up anyways.

So I understand your position.

Dear dot-Ken,

Everyone knows that Hitler prefered aerial attacks to start the season, just look at his stats in '39 to see my point. His (Hitler's) tendency of prefering the bomb, with low probablity/high risk strikes from long distances away probably being too Warner-like for Coach Whisenhunt's taste.

On the other hand, Stalin loves a slow plodding ground game, winning with a long slog through the snow which would be far better suited for back East where they play outside in the cold heart of Winter. Plus Stalin is on a nine game suspension for something or other that occurred in Georgia, I think.

So looking at it from a statistical standpoint, I'd much rather we look elsewhere, unless of course we can get either of them on the cheap.

Sincerely,

Rod Graves

He's gonna need more than +1 gloves of accuracy

Hitler also got his fan base working for him early in his career.

One good thing about all of this, at least I never bought a Leinart jersey.

In the terms of which you describe, my dear Grave-ite, the Hitler/Stalin combo seems to be the epitome of the Al Davis "vertical passing game" that hasn't worked since 1981.

Perhaps The Whis has unlocked the mystery of it's intricacies, and is now poised to unleash it's full 21st century potential!

In Anderson we trust!

You know I'm a long suffering Cards fan, but no way in hell I sign on to this. DA sucks and we are in trouble.

Here's hoping for the best but I'm not excited.

Been a Cardinal fan since the 60's and this has got to be the dumbest preseason that I've ever seen.

When will the insanity and stupidity end?

Oh yeah, when the Whizinator says so.

BTW, put me in the Matty camp.

Most people do not even know that Stalin had an UNSTOPPABLE swim move and his legs were like tree trunks that allowed him to drive opponents backwards into the backfield....

I'll root for DA is he's playing for the cards, but I don't agree with the move to elevate him over leinart if that indeed comes to pass. No how, no way.

yup.

I plan to do a thread later explaining in detail why this is really the first move by Whiz that really bothers me.

DA has proven that he blows. He has proven to be a bad decision-maker and prone to turning the ball over.

Leinart has really proven nothing, other than the fact that he can manage the game. If the staff had no faith in him then they should have been upfront with it and actually pursued someone worth a damn in the offseason. To tell Matt and the world that you are content with him and then go about it all this way is weak IMO. i refuse to accept the notion that the team really found out anything new about Leinart's game this year, but if they did then then we are not nearly as well coached as I had once thought. This is a playoff team two years removed form the Super Bowl who's stars are all a year older. We are not in a position to rebuild. If Leinart wasn't enough that we should have went hard for McNabb or Bulger. If the Eagles were willing to give him up for a 2nd within their division, he could have been had by us for a 3rd at most. Since many of the geniuses on this board have already decided after 2 preseason games that Roberts is a bust than we basically would have gotten Donovan for free.

OK, end of my late-night rant that i'll likely regret in the am.

I'll let you have this thread D, but I get to start the "Let's Go Max Hall" thread when Anderson gets crushed by Game 6 and our porous O-line.

So basically, it is time to ride or die with DA? :)

No kidding. The reshuffling of the offensive line appears to be something that would appear to be a far bigger deal than having DA start the Bears game. But then debating the merits of Tackles and Guards doesn't generate a lot of fervor.

The entire line looks out of sync and our tackles seem to have no idea how to block an outside rush for some reason, seeming to want to shove the defender rather than get a body as well as arms on him. I don't see other teams tackles doing this to our outside pass rushers. It is especially puzzling when you see a guy like Big Baby at 6'7" 360 do it.

Firmly in the Matt camp, it is what it is, come the real thing I'll root for the Cardinals, with a beer watching an internet feed of a little ball going across a green field or if I feel special in a bar because I canceled Direct TV over this kind of crap.

I'll save the money for my kids college, Whiz and the Cardinals FO can do without whatever money they'd get for that for this fiasco.

Dosen't mean I want the team to lose but it takes a heck of a lot to turn me this off on a season, and I honestly care less than I ever have about this team right now simply because of the moronic way this went down and simply because DA is somehow in some universe annointed as our starter.

He's a very lucky man, seriously.

I am in 100% agreement with that post...you are spot on.

But I'm fully behind DA (barring a miracle recovery by Toast).
