This loss is obviously and squarley on Whis' wimpy shoulders. Should have taken the 3 pts on 4th and goal from the 3 in the 2nd qtr. No way in hell do you call a pass on 1st down at the 20 with the game in the balance. At the very least call a frigging timeout with the playclock winding down at that junction in the game. Instead we watch a pinball bounce off an o-lineman's head.

I actually didn't have a problem with the decision to go for it there. My problem was with NOT calling a timeout when we had one and it was obvious there was confusion. Now obviously you don't need a TO to tell DA not to hit Faneca in the head, but you could see that play was in trouble by all the problems we had getting the play off. I'd much rather have called a TO and made sure we got the right play.

Whiz clearly realizes DA is a hot and cold guy and correctly or not decided DA was hot, and he wanted to ride that hot hand. The problem is at that point DA had only completed 2 passes, the spectacular catch by Breaston to get us down there, and the shovel pass to Wright where Sendlein screwed up the entire play by letting Ruud beat his block.

That drive killed me the run from the 7 if Beanie goes left he walks in, he instead ran right into the defense. Then 2 plays later is the perfect call but Sendlein missed the block or Wright scores.

I was fine with the decision, I would have kicked but I understand why Whiz didn't, but he should have called the timeout when it was clear things were confused.

No, Russ, it wasn't "fine". the decision was terrible if we took three time outs to get the call right. That BS decision haunted us the rest of the game, especially towards the end. I expect stupid guys like Wade Phillips to screw up something so simple, but not Whiz. We're not talented enough to throw away certain points.

Like I said, I would have kicked, but I was fine with Whiz's decision he was playing momentum. The problem was the play was so rushed they should have called timeout to discuss it. Maybe during the TO he changes his mind and kicks, maybe he doesn't. But at least we're not racing to get the snap off like that.

I would have kicked there as I think most of us on the game thread said.

Obviously looking back it was a horrible decision because we lost by 3, I just think Whiz figured DA came in and the momentum swung(largely due to the great catch by Breaston) so he wanted to try and capitalize.

Part of my being "fine" with it was also by the playcalls on the first 3 plays it was apparent Whiz was thinking 4 downs. Run, run, shovel pass, he clearly was thinking in terms of 4 downs.

He totally blew this game. I was going to make a long posy but this says it all. HORRIBLE decision to go for it on 4th and totally forgetting about the running game when we have the worst QB situation in the NFL.

I have to agree. Everyone in the stands was yelling for him to go for it and I was looking around like "Are you people nuts". I couldn't believe that Whiz went for it. I'm a huge Whiz supporter but that was a terrible decision.

I was yelling "NO! KICK IT!" while everyone else in my section cheered. Three or four people later told me "You were right", but, damn..... who cares about being right when it quite probably cost us the game.
